This should be fun..... A saw cut base,oversize rings on a stock piston, all ports up 1/16"!!! My brother iblaw did one real crazy like that and to my surprise it runs. Kinda funny like but it runs.

It's just aluminum... throw that jug on a miter saw with a carbide blade and cut the base. You don't need those extension wings, those are just to keep us simpletons from modding our own saws. Be careful though sharp things are dangerous, don't want to loose a hoof.

Anyone have a video of this process? I was going to use a Sawzall, but I can see how a miter saw could be better.

Piston needs the flange at bdc
Cut it off and you'll hang one in the exhaust port.

The thing I see most with guys that are learning is poor port shape and symmetry.

Learn how to grind without making a mess and for God sakes people stop grinding on the exhaust floor. Lol

Got the basics laid out

Gonna go 1/16" up on everything . My big bit won't fit into the dremel . I'll have to finish it with the smaller bits and a lot of sandpaper.

Where's the hoof rasp?

I use a save edge flat file meself. Works good. If i suspect that the base is uneven, then i use a gasket n extra shoe goo as a sealant. Gently bolt it down, wait till nxt day to torque the cylinder bolts to a 120 ft#s. . .
