I took the 6100 out yesterday for a bit. It still surprises me how big of a smile it puts on my face. Man that is a really nice saw.
So you think i should sell My Stihl 361 and go 6100 to keep the ps 420 sc company ?? I like them both of corse !

LOL well it would be good company for you 420. But according to all the 361 fans, it may be best if you send me the 420 to keep my 6100 company.

The 362 Ver II is 1/2 lb lighter than the 13 lb saw but has the same power and internal clutch. That makes it one of the lightest 60 cc saws out there, and noticeably less weight than the 362 Ver I, 562, and 262, which are all about 13 lbs.

If I were in the market for a new one, that would be it.

I also like that it has spring AV and M-Tronic, not much to worry about!

Issues with the function of the lightened clutch cover already have been reported on another forum. That by itself wasn't a surprise really, but the nature of the issue was (not clamping the bar properly in place, without over tightening the nuts). Time will tell...

The negative effect of the bulk and inboard clutch still are present anyway, the weight itself never was the main issue with the model.

Absolutely NOT, specially since I assume your 361 is the Euro version, and not the US one.
Correct...its a 2008 euro version. There not so easy to find now in good order and there worth money..but.. Would be very reluctant to part with it regardless !

What you missed is that the 560xp is the real winner, as it is the best handling one without doubt + it at least ties for the top honor in power, weight and throttle response.

I will have a 560 at some point I'm sure...the poll is showing in favour of the 562 (560) so far i see . I am looking out for a suitable saw that is cheep so i can learn about them without a large investment. ;)

My 2004 361W was stolen some years ago. I still want it back, even though the 560xpg is a better saw...

I wouldn't trade my 6100 for a 560/562 .
Maybe if you threw in $600 on top so I could go get another 6100. Lol
