The electricians and the insulator have been working off and on as the weather permits.

They have also been working on the LP siding on the front of the building and have the space for the sign prepared.

I am starting to get a little anxious.

Looks great! You'll love that sprayed in foam insulation mine is extremely efficient!

There will be about 6'5" of clear space in the center of the attic, more than enough for average height guys. I stopped by today on my way home from picking up the mail and even though it was -4 degrees (F) overnight, it was still quite comfortable inside the building with no heat on and the insulation only partially complete.

The electricians have been working this week, and the plumbers were getting the air lines up. Airlines are a kind of PEX tubing with and aluminum sleeve inside.

Once the wiring in the walls is complete and the plumbers have done their part, the insulator will return to finish up the walls and the lower portion of the roof. Following that they can get serious on the drywall...

Compressed air lines, rather than dragging hoses around the shop I will have 4 drops strategically located with spring loaded hose reels so you can just reach up and grab an airline when you need it.

High temperature today was around 20 degrees F, going to get cold tomorrow...

Put in filter/driers on the ‘drops’.

Or you will get squirt guns in the summer.

We had some brake systems turn to water filler ‘hydraulic’ during our shut down end of July. Compressor kept feeding air plus condensation due to leaks.

Insulation continues, electricians have most of their work in the walls completed.

I will put my machines along this wall (lathe, mill/drill, surface grinder) so I have 220v and 110v outlets available.

Looking up...

The plumbers sourced the air line kit, but they look just like the RapidAir kits that you can find at Northern Tool.

I traded some messages with the gas company last week (Black Hills Energy) and they showed up today. The insulation crew says they should finish tomorrow, and the contractor says the drywall is scheduled to get underway on Wednesday.

As I understand it, they weld a nipple to the gas line, then install a special fitting that drives a tap through the pipe to pierce it and connect the gas line with a compression fitting.

They had some additional assistance today from my granddaughter.

The insulators have finished, the alarm contractors were working today, and another crew were starting on the drywall on the ceiling above the central section. The upper layer is for fire protection only as the middle section will have 9' ceilings rather than 12' like the display area up front and the shop in the back.
