I have suggested before, and will say it again: mount the chains so that they can be moved about, like the leader board at a golf tournament.

You will keep getting new / additional samples!

Scan a bar code next to each chain, and that takes you to a website with more information on the history of that chain?

(Or, maybe, just a number that links to a loose leaf binder on the counter?)

Hi Mark, I just ran across your thread all I can say is WOW! I live just outside Anamosa Ia. Looks like I'm going to have to make a trip to Dike. What hours and days is the museum open?

Thank You, Dave Sr.

Still trying some layouts to see what works best and trying to decide how much information to include on the labels.

There's a local shop that does the hige mechanical harvester chain, do you have any of that Mark?

There is a section of Oregon 11 (3/4" pitch) and Atkins 7/8" pitch just before the old Wolf straddle scratcher chains.

I think there are 119 different chain samples on the board at this time.

I was out of town today setting up for the Cedar Valley Engine Club show that goes through Monday. When I stopped back at the shop to pick up another saw I had a surprise visitor drop by...Dan H also known as Rockcrusher402 on eBay. We had a quick tour of the shop & display and he had to get on the way with his newly acquired Chevy farm truck. I failed to take any photos while he was here but was quick enough to catch him filling up at the local Kwik Star before he got out of town.

I spent some time this week cleaning up a few "tractor saws" for my display. First up is a "White Motor 19D" that had been setting out in the weather for a few years.

Coil was quite dead so this one is just for looking.

Last one so far this week, Massey Ferguson MF370 AR which (I believe) is a Roper C354.

I think the choke knob may have been a heater vent control from a '59 Dodge.

It had a points replacement chip but I cleaned and adjusted the points, condenser was good, so we are back to the original ignition operation.

Like the 190 A, this one used a pressurized oil tank for the automatic oiler (flow control knob is on the right above) but also has a manual pump plus an additional valve that is operated by the throttle.
