Sure thing, I’ll get some posted when my better half shares some photos with me. Amazing museum you put together Mark, it was a pleasure to visit!

A little background for the forum, I turned the big 4-0 last week and to celebrate we spent a four day weekend visiting some of Iowa’s museums as Wisconsin is still fighting to shake off winter. Started out in Rochester, MN to see Bob Nuss’s Mack truck collection, then south to Iowa at Charles City’s county museum to check out Oliver history, Winterset for the John Wayne museum, Griswold to see both Allis Chalmers and IH museums, Pisgah to eat breakfast at the Old Home Filler Up And Keep On Trucking Cafe (RIP CW), Mark’s McCulloch Museum, and Elkader to see the Caterpillar earth moving museum. All top notch, met all wonderful people along the way, probably gained ten pounds from all the good food. A great time all the way around but Mark’s chainsaw museum was at definitely at the top!

A neighbor stopped by yesterday afternoon and dropped off a little something he'd picked up at a toy show over the weekend.

I ordered some parts off eBay and never paid attention to who the seller was. A few days later I received a package from Definitive Dave Smith (Chainsaw Conservations Components) that included some additional McGoodies.

Oh, by the way, the parts I ordered were in the box as well...took me a while to figure out just what I'd received.

A friend/neighbor of Jim’s picked that XL-15 up at a weekly auction in Joetown and gave it to him.

The two of us got it running with not much more than fresh fuel and replaced a missing screw.

The 16” bar is far short of what it needs.

I greatly miss my friend. [emoji20]

My grandson Grady is helping me this week as I continue to sort through the boxes of parts from Discount Marine. I read off a part number as I pull a bag or box from the Discount Marine items, he checks my inventory spreadsheet to see if I already have the part number and where it's located, then we decide if I can add the Discount Marine items to my existing stock/location or if we need to relocate the items to the attic where I have more room. At 14 years old he's pretty handy with the keyboard and mouse, in fact he can navigate and type faster than my poor old laptop can process so he has to wait occasionally for the computer to catch up.



We are both enjoying the time.

I bought the remaining McCulloch inventory from Discount Marine sometime in February...



5:00 PM today...



There are still 600 or more part numbers to go through in the two remaining boxes and the 10 totes in the background. Mostly hardware; nuts, screws, washers, snap rings, roll pins, seals, bearings, etc., etc. Figuring out just how to organize all that is going to require a bit of thought, and more wall space than I current have vacant.

I have a several lifetimes supply of 14" hardnose bars for the small saws, plus some sprocket nose 14's and a few other sizes as well.

JM .02, the generic type fasteners and such are hardly worth sorting and storing.

I.E., a 10-32 round head screw can be bought by the dozen or pound.

That looks like several lifetimes of hardnose bars!
Let me know if you find some oval head slotted screws for the 10 series recoil cover .( long and short)
I finally got everything moved to the new house and shop but we probably won't have everything sorted for a few months and then I can start some good rebuild threads.

Very little is what you would deem as "generic", and most are relatively small quantities but I will try to put them aside by part numbers for the purists and to be able to try and find suitable substitutes when the OEM bits are gone. It is not always easy to I.D. a thorough description of the fasteners from the limited information in the IPL's.

Ira - send me a list of what you are looking for and I should be able to cover you with either OEM or new fasteners that match the descriptions.
