The hardware items are mostly put away. I had all of the chain parts (repair kits, presets, tie straps, cutters, bumpers) shoved into a cabinet but it was impossible to find anything so Jeff and I spent some time this morning getting it properly consolidated and put up.

At this point we had about 20% of the part numbers put into bin.

Making sure we have space to get it all organized

All the new parts fit. The three small parts organizers also have a variety chain parts in a wide variety of sizes.

I already had this organizer filled with a variety of parts. Just so EMF doesn't lose any sleep over it, we put a label on that last bin.

If you get to focus on normal saws, an organizer like that should prove to be more than enough. When you start messing with stuff that's older that we are, you will never have everything you may need.

I'd still like to find a batch of Carlton 1/2" pitch presets and tie straps to compliment the store.

I went through the starter handles and related parts this week. Everything had been shoved into a large base cabinet.

I'll get an "after" photo for you tomorrow.

Just when I was starting to get the parts organized, I made a trip to Wisconsin and stopped to see Woody Strommen. Woody was ready to get rid of all his chainsaw and trimmer stuff, I came home heavily laden. Maybe 15% of it all is NOS parts, the rest is parts saws and used parts, mostly later model stuff. I will find out what aluminum is bringing for scrap prices in the coming days.

Starter parts put away, lots of extra space now available.

I rediscovered a good stash of .404 8T sprockets for the gear drive McCulloch saws.

I have an upper cabinet that has been accumulating fuel lines and filters, and other items I didn't have a better place for. I had also been keeping some of the empty black bins in there until I had a need for them (like today). There used to be a double row of empty black bins up there.

I added an extra shelf, and moved some item from the next cabinet over trying to make the best use of all available spaces.

Now I have some extra space to improve on next door.

We smoked turkey legs, turkey breast, turkey thighs, and a pork loin yesterday with a real wood fire (Brinkman Smoker) using mostly slices off my oak test log cut with various saws I tested over the past several months...does that count?

You will just have to stop by and have a look for yourself, kind of hard to really show everything.

I bought a small Stihl hardware assortment from Traverse Creek/Saw Salvage and they sent along some bonus goods. I big thanks to Chris Theirof and the staff there.

20230207_104729-jpg.364101

A nice assortment of NOS McCulloch parts, I only needed to add one or two part numbers to the inventory but there were some items in there that were very complimentary to what I already have on hand.

For instance...85001 is the needle bearings for the PM6, 65382 is an oiler screen/pickup with a valve, 68533 is the insert for some of the 10 Series fuel caps, 61858 is the idle governor spring used on some of the MAC carburetors, 60729 is a starter pawl for the large frame RH start saws, and 104409 is a 6204 bearing.

You're welcome!

Mark, is this stainless part an auxiliary fuel or oil tank for an SP125?
Do you have any documents to support it?

🤣🤣🤣

Hope all is well in Dike. I've been reviewing/chopping down our time together into bite size pieces for YT lately. It's nice to relive it. Thanks for having us there.
