I designed an adapter for the 2253/550 etc saws. Here it is!

What I came up with is an adapter that is epoxied to the stock intake/filter mount.
A hole will need to be drilled into the top covers for these to work.

Will accept any 2" I.D. filter of any flavor.

I have ordered a k&n that is 1" shorter in height to try to minimize how tall it sticks up.

Pic of the P/N below.

I will have these available to who ever wants one, just me me

Or

DDave will also have these on his website soon.

@mortilitool ... Will the 7900/10 stack fit under a HD cover? Are these less restrictive than the factory HD throat?
I saw in hotsaws101 video he fitted a small k an n with some kind of velocity stack under the hood. Be nice to see one of our members sell a kit or something for 7900/7910.

I am in the process of modifying it. It’s all together, just waiting on a fuel line and few smalls. When I have a saw apart I usually do all the lines to start fresh.

I am not 100% sure if it will fit under the HD cover. I will do some testing once I have that adapter/vstack figured out and in my hands. It is indeed on its way though. I just have a few other irons in the fire before I can take on another adapter/vstack.

Just a thought, maybe something like the 550 setup you made would work for the 7900, the 7900/7910 has a av buffer socket the end of the intake plugs into. This way it would still work. Or maybe just 3D printing the entire intake piece is possible and would be better?
