I did it all backasswards, I taught myself Tig on AC Aluminum. On a Synchrowave 250.

After trading a few machines, including a Dynasty, I settled on a TA300 Arcmaster inverter.

Not as many bells and whistles as the Dynasty, but gets the job done.

Tig is 90% Indian and 10% arrow. The best Tig welder I ever saw uses a 1970 Sinewave dinosaur and can weld circle around me.

I've thought about doing a pop up this way before. Do you get warppage in the piston? Are you doing anything to control it , preheat , hot sand baths etc.?
Yes. Measured before and after. Preheated.

I bought 4047 filler-approximates piston silicon content the best.

AC, 100Hz, 65%EN
