Looking for tips on getting a seized saw freed up. Its an old mas D44. Do not know the history other then it came out of a barn. It may be seized from sitting or worse from running lean. Not sure.
Any how looking for ideas to try. So far i soaked it last night with sea foam. Today i tried using the heat gun and put a few heat cycles in it. I was gonna pour cold water on top of piston in hopes it may break it free but not sure if thats a good idea? Thoughts.

I went up to napa to see if they have pb blaster but no. They did recomend soaking with tranny fluid so that where im at now. Probly leave it soak till tomorrow.

I also tried after heat very litely tapping the piston with a brass punch and hammer all around outside of piston.

Yup, that's the stuff. I've loosened up a bunch of frozen engines that way, just takes a little time, but very little effort and no destruction.

I just poured some of each in and stired with a sctewdriver. Think thats good enough or steal one of the wifes tupperware containers and mix it better?

I dunno, I put it in a spray bottle and just shake it first before using as it seperates.

Poke it with a stick!
Use a wood hammer handle set it on the offending piston then whack the hammer with the palm of your hand.
Try to rock the piston on the wristpin.
When you see it move a little turn the crank moving the piston up not down. Get it up a little then pour more ATF/acetone in to help loosen the crud ridge built up at the bottom of the rings.

That mix then get a wood block instead of the brass. Any chance the bottom is locked up too?
I do need to find a wooden block. Just never had anything on hand. Thats why i just went real east with brass punch and hammer. I probly could have poked it harder with my finger lol.
