At work more than a half dozen new 562 have gone down recently, not sure of oil was a different yard in another city, meet on storm. Guy said they where being warranted by husky, said bearing problems.

Crank bearings or big end bearing? Last one of these I fully rebuilt, the crank had spun inside the bearings and worn the crank.

Sorry he didn’t really elaborate, most of the guys don’t care or show any interest, company pays for/provides saws. The yard I work out of they gave up on husky when the 562 was introduced years ago. All stihl now saw for one new 562 the boss got I’ll post if it dies and how/why

They fuelled the saw. I use stihl hp ultra at 50/1 never had a problem. The same company has 2 other saws i’ve ported running aspen with no issues. They are 357s though so no auto tune.

357 isn’t a strato either. The xtorq strato design inherently gets about 30% less oil and fuel through the bottom end

Presuming these were the post 2020 models with the latest revision?

One would think all the previous kinks were resolved with the latest series.

Was it Bob @Spike60 who mentioned that these were the bread and butter for the Husky brand?

The saw is a 2021 build.

So what can i as user do. Doses better oil help ? Switching from husqvarna xp oil to motul 800 off road? How is autotune reacts to higher oil ratios from 50 :1 to 40 :1 or ever 32 :1 ?

My 562 runs just fine with 32:1 or 24:1. I used Dominator for the last few tanks, Schaffers 7000 for a few years before Dominator

Be careful with Motul800 in Autotune saws.

It is a fantastic oil. I used to use it exclusively until I ran it at 32:1 in an M-Tronic saw and had all sorts of issues. I learned afterwards that it was one of the most viscous 2 stroke oils out there. The increased mix rate and the mix being cold made it tough to flow through the small carb jet in the smaller AT saws. The saw kept trying to richen up what it couldn’t and acted all sorts of bad. Switched to a Saber at 32:1 and the saw ran fine. It’s hard to believe, but it happened to me.

Fast forward to 1:45

Now, on a stock saw with a smaller bar and chain, it might be fine. The above saw is ported and using a 20” 3/8 BC.

Depends on the saw and use. If it’s a small saw with high compression and you plan to overload it like I did, I wouldn’t use the 800. If it’s a bigger saw, you’ll be fine.

The saw in the video I showed didn’t suffer any injuries, it just didn’t run well once it got hot.

I always run extra oil in muh aspen, somewhere around 35-40:1. I like to run mobil 1 racing which is still available in sweden and reasonably priced.

Dall chains high rakers and cutting air will smoke big end bearings fast. Tree service company saws have it rough but not as bad as Wildlands fire crew saws.
I have never seen a lower rod bearing fail on 562s. Maybe a bad batch of bearings is to blame.
