When did this site become a mob that does nothing more than to pick apart and critique the work of others ? Yeah so the guy is slinging a little BS, hes just trying to move a product. Don't like it move along and buy from a trusted member within our group. This group was founded on a handfull of guys that wanted to be able to help one another and have open conversation about working on saws without fear of criticism or argument. Now that we have had a bad egg from within and the whole group mentality has turned. Just my thoughts and opinion....

Marketing BS at it's best/worst! Talk about a spin doctor!

This guy is in my state, (not to mention I've been to Sparta many times, and have friends who live there). Did anyone take the time to possibly see if he may be a member? (No sarcasm, just curious). Or possibly could there be a you tube channel which demonstrates his skills on video? After looking at his one negative feedback on Ebay, it does not look promising.

I in no way shape or form intended my original post to condemn the man. I just smelled something a bit rotten with it and wanted to bring it out to the open so nobody purchased one without verifying everything about the saw.

From all of the pictures it would appear as though it is an OEM husqvarna saw But nowhere in the ad does it state that.

If someone were not paying close attention they might be an unhappy purchaser when they receive the saw.

Do not mean to lynch the man, just clarify things for anyone curious, mostly myself.

Meteor makes all of their pistons in house in Italy.
The cylinders for the more common stuff like Stihls and Husqys they bring in unfinished from outside Italy and do the finishing and plating themselves.
Other models, predominantly the Italian made saws, they produce the entire cylinder in house.
For custom work (1000 cylinders or more) they can do the cylinder in house or outsourced to China, the price is vastly different.
Like other vendors they have good and bad pieces.
Specifically the 026 cylinders were junk and the MS260 cylinders had a bad production run, Meteor made both of those batches of cylinders good for me immediately.
I am surprised to hear anything bad about the 066 cylinder, those sell incredibly well with great feedback.

I'd be willing to bet all mine have some sort of scuff or scratch. I don't look unless I'm pulling the muffler for some reason or notice it's down on compression

If memory serves which quite often it does not was Meteor the company a few years back that Gregg Grande when he worked for Baileys was negotiating for some special cylinders for something?

While I can't disagree about the mob mentality and find it disheartening that it stifles the free flow of information on the site, I don't think it applies to this thread.

This guy is slinging substantially more that just a little BS, I find no way around that it's a pretty blatant misrepresentation of a product that is right in line with what many people on this sight are all about.
Raising suspicion is more than justified here...

Um... What's his name from VA had some custom stuff done in ceramic plating for chop saws. He had good stuff made but never found it's market. The jugs were plated special to stand up better to eating concrete and stone dust. The theory was you just replace the rings and piston. Multiple re-uses was the jugs strong suit not performance.

He's on the grid baby... or at least FluTube. Definitely a chinukistan thunder monkey in sheep's pudding.

We have a rule in these parts to never trust a man with one of those blue teeth contraptions dangling out his ear.

So then we can only complain about bad saws JMS or whomever sold/solicited through this site specifically?

I personally don't care about the origin of the BS as a prerequisite to alerting others to it...

Is this the only thread to post on? Like it or not people are gonna make threads we don't agree with. You don't have to click on a thread if you don't want to.

Just tired of all the finger pointing and the mob mentality fellas. Nobody needs to get their britches in a wad. What JMS did was bad, real bad, and the folks here are helping the ones that got taken advantage of. I'm just ready for the site to go back to being fun and educational like it used to be. I don't think I'm the only one that feels this way either.
