Perfect size for hand cutting.

Not much time tied up falling one for sure. This is some of the smallest timber I've cut in a stretch. With culls its 900 marked on this unit, I'm 1/3 done 5 days in. Working alone, so I get to see them from standing to landing.. Which, in this heat is nice to hop on the skidder and take a break from the saw

This was fun til the lift blew a hose. Was a dump n dash, just get it on the ground. No dodging houses or nice grass or landscaping. Cut the limbs off big n go. Got it short enough to fit in the yard and balanced the way I wanted to fall it with the lift, then dropped with the 6100 and firewooded the bigger stuff with the ported 3120...as they say, that big 3120 is a fun time saver with a lot of bucking. I didn't drop this tree, but it's fallen on me to get it to manageable sizes to get rid of. About 36" diameter with a 24" bar on the 576 "problem child." First tank of gas went fine, went nearly through the sec0nd tank in short order, and wouldn't rev, or revved intermittently. I thought this AutoTune had a problem... it was an early one. $25 to read the fuel values... We'll see where we go from here.
I don't need a saw this size often, but when I need it, I need it..
Have to continue the attack with the 24" 562..

BTW, this is for the local church.... I hope it gets me a much needed few points. I'm gettin' close!

It's nice to have a big saw when a big saw is needed. @BlacknTan
When I first started cutting my own firewood, I thought I could cut anything with a ms290. Then the EAB started putting 30" plus ash trees at my feet. The ms290 now takes a back seat to the 8 other saws I have.

Started on this one friday, this is after the first load of brush was cleared, got another load yesterday. If the rain doesn't stop me I plan on another tomorrow.
It's one of the largest mulberry I've cut. It was a codominant stem that separated.

Does that tree have blue berries on it?
Blue/red, this one didn't have many though; thank God, or I'd look like I went to war .
Heading back now for another load of brush from the neighbors side of the fence. Might get two loads out today, depending on the rain and my ability to keep moving. It's only 75 now heading to 80, but 88% humidity .

Jeesh, that's almost as bad as here..

I had heard that the UP has beautiful weather!:)
91% and 74 right now, but there's a storm moving in lol.
Managed to get two loads of brush out and got them burned, also got the tree on the ground and the neighbors all cleaned up(it was over the fence and I pulled a trailer and a half out of there).
Hope to have all the wood out tomorrow, but there's a good chance of rain so we'll see how that goes.
They said they didn't care about the swingset, so I just left it there since it was also secured to the ground and it had a good bit of pressure on it :aaaaa:.

The swing set made for a nice temporary log jack.

There's actually part of the branch that was supporting the tree that I left about a ft long(the one next to the swing set in the 1st pic). Heading there now to remove the last of the brush and start on the logs, hope to be finished today.

Went over to house sit for my folks while they were away. Noticed a branch from the pecan tree has fallen. Got the Echo PPT 2620 and 462 with 25in bar out, both saws that haven't been ran in a while. Started bucking from the bottom, branch came down, did not even need to pole saw.

Did use the pole saw to section the limbs to length once I piled them together.

Nice job Mason. That 572 really slaying them down.
Thanks I think I have roughly 2-3 mil bd ft total on the saw. Idk for sure I never kept track of stuff like that. I figure 2-3 years on a logging saw is 10 years for a firewooder. I swapped the shortblock about 150 hours ago when it got that tsumura bar on it (it’s a tsumura you just can’t see any of the paint anymore). Pto bearing wore out. Still original topend, piston, carb, ect.
