There is no single moment when the us VS them attitude began on this forum, but it is here, and we have to deal with it.
I can tell you when at least part of the division started. Even after that, we (apparently only some) continue to see the jabs when no one is looking, similar to coming up behind you and slapping you on the back of the head as they run by. Some of it isn’t directed towards any one person, some of it is.

Very well said Randy.

Y’all make me feel bad for Randy…and myself and the rest of us.

My interest in hanging here dropped a few notches after seeing that too.

Makes a guy wonder…If y’all can’t get along, what if I say something one of y’all doesn’t like? You gonna treat me that way too?

Remember when we were kids, and someone told us that "if we didn't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything"?

Sadly, as grown men it appears that we didn't listen very well to their advice.
I remember a conversation with a certain individual (who was moderating here) about stepping in and saying this  in regards to a thread dogging on AS members back when this site first began. The response "these things have to play out", seems the tune has changed, unless it doesn't fit the narrative, much like many things in this world now.

Thing to remember about internet personality disputes - they will never amount to anything. Like the people that argue on Facebook - it goes nowhere
and they end up proving nothing. Plus - when you make snide or negative comments, or take jabs at one another, those comments remain and that's a
part of what you're remembered for. Do you want someone reading the forum in the future, seeing a bunch of trash you've talked?

Dignity and emotional composure are hallmarks of a strong, intelligent personality. I would highly suggest everyone remember that when they start
typing in the reply box.

I agree, some things need to be said though.
I've read;
4 Do not answer a fool according to his folly,

or you yourself will be just like him.

5 Answer a fool according to his folly,

or he will be wise in his own eyes.

Very well said.

Also remember that it never does you any good to make enemies. If you bump heads, avoid them. If you act poorly, it's going to affect how others see and interact with you in the future...saw deals, GTGs, fundraisers, employment, etc...myself and probably everyone is a lot more inclined to hang out with and help out someone with good manners and character than someone with poor manners.

We've all made mistakes here at one time or another, myself included of course. I'm just asking if we can step back, and look at the damage that is being done to our forum in general. Forums like this are in steep decline. Facebook groups are gaining popularity, and places like this are disappearing. If we want to stay alive, as a group, we will need to do better.

I would love to just let things play out. It would make my life much simpler.

Thanks for adding your thoughts.

As for changing narratives, life is in a flux of constant change. If we can't change with it, we will continue to make the same mistakes over and over.

When I was a young firefighter, I worked for a brilliant program manager.

He told me early on: "Bad leaders create adversarial relationships. Good leaders create working relationships. Great leaders create collaborative relationships."

We've already given up on fundraising it seems, and at least for me, the thoughts of a gtg get less appealing daily.

Evidently I've been a horrible "leader" here.

I don't think so Randy. You've created hundreds, if not, thousands of collaborative relationships, stood up for your principles, and made
the best decisions you could at the time with the information you had in hand. You've got nothing to worry about.

I second this. I know from experience being a "leader" is extremely difficult. I would not wish it on anyone. People suck. But I love them. Dangit.

And we all know that Ryan is just an innocent peacemaker who never looks for trouble, RIGHT RYAN!!!

Who said that ?

The difference between me and your girlfriends is I don't turn into a little girl and start whining and reporting posts.

I can dish it out...I can take it too.

That's the difference between us.

He drew first blood Ryan. Talk to your cousin. He feeds people that don't know me and have never met me, bad information about me. Through PMs, text, WhatsAPP, etc... No loss on my end.

Thanks for stepping in to clarify this situation. BUT there isn't anything passive about my avatar. When someone hits, I hit back. I have a strong type A personality. Just me...

24 years I worked the streets. Never had an issue. I might not have worked in Philly, but I earned my respect.

If you have a strong personality then why do you get bent so easy and start telling on people.

Serious question.
