ive heard @wcorey is the guy to talk to on these, whatya say bill?

Not so much really...
I have a friend that has a few and I've become the sort of default mechanic so I do end up working on them here and there.

Can never get the model designations straight, just don't deal with them on a regular enough basis...
He has a smallish gasser, a medium gasser looking much like yours but shorter and then a big beasty of a diesel.

The mid size one is totally restored/customized but has something seriously wrong with the clutch rendering it undrivable.
Not looking forward to that job, a crap-ton of stuff has to come apart just to see what's up in there.
The big diesel is solid and runs well and then he also has an m1078 that's in pretty nice shape.
I've had to adapt various attachments, like making plow frames setups and such.
We have one of those huge snow blowers that needs to go on one, gonna be interesting figuring that one out...

He just sold what was a forth one, another mid sized gasser, that I did a lot of work to over a few years.
It liked to foul plugs if you left the manual choke on for just a bit too long.
Kind of a ratty looking fixer upper but generally solid mechanically, sort of glad to see it leave while everything was still working, lol...

While I'm here...
Picked these up a couple weeks ago, as well as a mantis tiller, all for a hunert bucks.
Everything pretty much cleaned up nice and ran with some minor fiddling, the 55 is even a closed port jug.
Was kind of excited with the redmax as I hadn't gotten to play with one of those yet.
That srm400 brush saw is a real beast, makes the 'regular size' ones look teeny.

IMG_20200829_104517.jpg IMG_20200829_105515.jpg IMG_20200830_094125.jpg Bit behind on my snag pics sorry lads, lifes been a bit crazy here.

On the right a saw listed as a 350, but obviously had clip top cover not screws so I took a punt and hit the button. 353. $120usd. Toasted top end (plastic clamp of death) and (another) broken off clutch side AV travel limiter. No matter, this is off to contribute to a 346 build for @markds2 dad.

To the left an 08 357. $120usd also. Seller reckons he IMG_20200830_094125.jpg had it tuned at a shop and not even a tank later it failed. Haven't dug into her yet but I'd say this one will hang around here....

Update: 357 looks like it came off second best to a gravity experiment, but I have another so it looks like it's parts switcheroo time.

Last weeks snag 028WB . Was super crudded up - like a pound of crap. $125 but I did a bundle ba few years ago for $125 - 2 Ms 250s, poulan 4200 and 2 little wonder gas trimmers. Already sold 1 250 for 150 and 1 trimmer for 60 or 80.

Family member really wanted the 250. I did the usual tweaking - muff mod , timing advance... Saw the 028 listed and had the 250 sold before I picked it up for 125( family price) so indirectly got the 028 for 25. Sorry about being long winded!

Ya it's too bright. The paint can was the right price at an estate sale so I grabbed it . No lid I made the assumption it was black high temp. Started painting as was shocked but decided to keep going just to see... It's a 3 part muffler. Going to paint the front 2 black and leave the back off white.
