@huskihl , That is a nice little lathe.
I am hoping to put away some cash from the saws I am now rebuilding to get something like that so I can get into some porting.

Speaking of which, I got these today for $30 each

Husky's:
2100CD
575XP
372XP
372XP in parts
371XP in parts
268

Stihl's:
MS660
041AV
064
064 in parts

and an Echo 550ESP in a pear tree!

The fella was a logger and said he has a mate with a shed full if I was interested, and would ask him when he sees him next.
I said yes!

Last week I got a Stihl 090AV, 076 AV Super, 034 Super and an old 08-S

Not a bad batch of saws I recon.

Thanks Brews. I like it a lot.
That's a nice haul at $30 apiece

They actually have not done much work.

Old mate who owned them obviously never cleaned them, or the air filters, or anything, and eventually something simple stopped them.
They then got thrown in the shed and replaced.

The 575 has a stiffed piston but the rest feel really good with shed loads of compression.
I suspect new air filters, carb kits etc will see them running fine again

Picked up this old tank of a Homelite super xl 925 for $40. Not sure it's a great deal but the saw is solid and popped off on choke. But both rubber fuel lines are gummy and collapsed. 20160530_113146.jpg20160530_113159.jpg

Did some trading, got to chat with another one of our members here and ended up with this. Still looking for its big brother.View attachment 23541
Have you ran it yet? I love mine,it's ported but be careful cutting the chamber because a little makes a ton of compression and the starters aren't great.
Awesome smooth running saw. Whip on a 660 to

IMG_20160530_203256163_HDR.jpgI grabbed this monster Husqvarna 39R brushcutter, a Shindawa T-25 (If memory serves me correctly) with a missing head, a running Ryobi combo unit, Echo CS-302 (my fifth one I think), stroke Troy Bilt tiller, 4 stroke Honda tiller, and an Echo 1600 hedge trimmer...

Those old Poulans do run really good. If you haven't already disable the governor in the carb and while you have it off install a set of Boyesen reeds. Not a lot of performance improvement but every little bit counts.
