Anyone here bought AM saw parts online thinking they were OEM? The descriptions say "Aftermarket" or "Replaces" but some customers still don't get it.

One customer sent the below message. He refused to use the part because it was not made in Sweden.

"...the box I received says made in Taiwan..... PLEASE RESOLVE THIS ASAP, I NEED MY SAW FIXED SO I CAN FEED MY FAMILY."

This it the title of the item he bought:

Here is another guy who filed a claim with us.

"Return reason: Doesn't match description or photos
Comments: Seller claimed engine was a Honda GX390 short block engine. It is not . It is a copy of a honda which it looks like a predator to me. Honda s have a serial # and model stamped in front of the block 5 his engine does not. Sorry it has taken me so long to return but I have never has to return something that I bought off eBay!"

That cylinder we label ourselves. If we'd of put Sweden on the sticker instead of Taiwan I would never have heard from that guy. And his kids would not have starved.

I love the Farmertec 365 husky crankcase that has "made in Italy" printed on the box, but the sticker on the corner of the box says "made in China".
maybe they import the multicolored box?

When I was over there I seen "Made in...Italy, Sweden, Canada, Australia..." The factory owners laugh about it.
Never saw Made in USA though.

So, so true its not that they have no respect for intellectual property, copyrights or patents......they just don't get it one bit. When I sold sports cruiser boats that were $250-1.5mil dollar products, I had a China man come in one day and try to buy 3 boats at once in the main 3 sizes 28ft, 36ft and 48ft. When the salesman grinning ear to ear brought him into the office to sign him up and have a chat, I asked him 'so you must be generous buying three boats, what are you going to do with them', thinking he was a wealthy chap buying them for family or whatever. He replied, ' no no me just take to my factory in China and copy' with a big happy smile on his face. He did not even attempt to hide his intentions and was happy to tell me straight up he was going to make hundreds of them and use these three as templates to copy. I smiled back and told him to have a nice day, and that we could not sell him any boats. That is what your up against with China, its not so much they have no respect for patents etc, its just something they don't grasp or understand. I can imagine exactly the factory owners laughing about their 'made in xyz' printed on products or packaging. They could not care less.

I enjoy the block bidder feature on Ebay

I particularly enjoyed blocking a guy who told me flat out that I was selling counterfeit rings and circlips with the OEM MS660 Stihl pistons I was selling because "Stihl never puts the rings on the pistons or the circlip in the piston and I don't see any lasewr engraving on the ring that says Stihl"
I offered a full refund and explained courteously that he was wrong on all counts, he sent several more rants, but eventually just stopped after I reported his harassment to Ebay.

We had a guy like that we sold an OEM Husqvarna cylinder to. He swore that is was a remanufactured used kit and he could "still smell the exhaust fumes in it". He would never use that piece of junk on his saw.
