Hate scumbags that steal. I have an 8 camera surveillance system covering the house barn and shop. And a security system. So far the scumbags haven't made any night pickups. Maybe they will suffer from some lead poisoning

That sucks man! At least they didn’t clean you out!
I had some stuff stolen last year, sorry to say the cops just won’t do much, it’s just not enough value for them to care. This kid took stuff from my truck at my house, had eye witness and video footage, and the cops knew who it was, but the guy didn’t have the stuff on him, so there was nothing they could do! It’s frustrating!
Had a customer that set up trail cams to curb thieves and....they stole the cameras!

Unfortunately about all the police can do is write a report. The only way to stop thieves is to make the effort to break in and steal not worth the risk. Most locks can be defeated with relative ease. A large screwdriver will easily defeat most hasps and padlocks. Security cameras with signs is a good start and a box with a keyswitch and a big red LED is the best deterrent. And that keyswitch connected to a very loud alarm system is the very best deterrent. Hoping they won't come back is silly. When they need more drug money they will go midnight discount shopping again.

I was having a good day...

went out to my shed to work on the mower....started sharping a blade for the mower. Noticed some bars on the floor (sugi's) ... ??? put them back. noticed some blow mold cases for nail guns on my bench, and some opened up??? I didn't do that. Ugh...someone's been in here.

What's missing?

Miller 180 autoset mig welder, 80cu ft bottle c02 mix gas, cart, welding helmet autodarkening
AMICO 3 in 1 TIG Stick plasma
.... China 660 clone... my test saw for the last few years with a 28" tsumura bar (got it from Nate).

Why did they only take that????

They left all the huskies! OMG.... !!! they left the dewalt tools! ????????

I'm at loss gents. No sign of forced entry. Cops tried to get prints but its hot and muggy and oily everywhere.

I'm gonna scour CL and pawn shops. This sucks. Gonna be cameras in the shed from now on.
Just a guess but if there was stuff on the floor they didnt take maybe they were startled?

Just remember self defence can only be proven if you shoot them in the front not the back.

Dang Matt. So sorry to hear that!! Not only is losing items from theft a huge inconvenience, and pain I. The ass...it’s a huge violation of privacy. I’ve been stolen from much more than I’d care to admit. Hope you are able to come across something that leads you to the thieves.
I definitely agree with the others, with the stuff they left....they’ll likely be back.

Two welders and the largest saw?
Truck must have been close to full or you guys spooked 'em.
Sounds like they went for the big ticket items first.
Yeah, return visitors seem to be common when you have a shed full of goodies.

Long winded way to say that I feel your pain and frustration and sense of violation.

I had a break in about 30 years back. They got a couple of milk crates worth of electric tools during the middle of the night after everyone was asleep.
Few months later, they caught us when no one was home and finished the job.
Top boxes, and anything that looked the least bit pricey.
They basically left hand powered tools that bring the least cash, mostly wrenches and screwdrivers and hammers.
....Then one night it's gone.
Amazing what you begin to realize that you've accumulated across a handful of jobs and employers who tended to just glance through your box on exit day and say
"don't sweat the taps and small tooling, etc. Just keep 'em". "...they were written into the job bids, so just figure it's your reward for not abusing them"
Consumables mostly, but always but well cared for by me, so still good life in them. Another reason to always be a good steward of the shop/employer supplied items!
Just more stuff than I can ever afford to replace all of, now that I'm "retired".
