No I cant see any other markings. Black tag says 42 , there is no SP. I dont know these saws well but everything looks like a 242 to me

some had 42 special on top cover, some not.
Gilardoni have some other marking on the cylinder. I've seen 7, 241A on the two 42 I have.
I know or heard that there was some who pretty !uch had 242 jug, at least closed port, but I've never seen them.

Later stage along with 246 Husqvarna called all those for 42 special, as sale gimmick, at least that what they told me.

I am interested to figure out everything you can see on your saw, 93 model ås you have is an interesting year since Husky did lots changes in those years

I have not been online in CS forums for quite some time so I have no idea if anyone out there has any interest in a couple Stihl top handle projects. Got a fairly minty 009 that runs great but won't oil. Also have an old 020 which does run but needs lots of love. Pretty sure it has a decent P/C but it's been a couple years since I pulled that muffler. Definitely not looking for top dollars here, just cleaning out my limited space and want to find new owners for these.

When you say "old 020" do you mean all metal or like ms200 but with screw caps?
If its the latter I may be interested

According Husqvarna 42 IPL there was 3 cyjlinders
Yours, the older one (7), never one (241A),
the older one have two longer cylinder screws compared to my 241A (inlet side)
I asked Husqvarna Norway if they could explain me what 42 special was. I never got a good answer other then on later stage like the 97 I have it was simple a sale gimmick.
Ordered decals last week, only one sort decal to 42, and yes, 42 special.
