The Red97 deflector thread

Stainless could be welded to a plain steel muffler. May not be a strong as normal but should work fine. I've haven't tried it to know for sure.

I haven't had any issues welding stainless to mild.

Thought about a cleaner way to install them, when it finally came to me, just do it like the factory would make it.



Spot weld it on the Stihl's that have an open can.


Not too bad looking when done.



For guys wanting to weld on stainless to steel, this is no problem at all, any way you want to do it.

Plenty of material to make a flange as well to use screws to fasten if desired.

If you don't have a spot welder, but do have a mig welder, you can drill 1/8" - 3/16" holes everywhere on the deflector you would normally put a spot weld. The clamp the deflector to the muffler, and fill those small holes with weld and it will look very clean when finished.
