Does anyone have experience with the kit from Saw Salvage AKA The Duke?
I have not gotten that one, but I did get a Duke's nikasil piston and cylinder kit for a Husky 576 and it worked great! Its been on the saw for a year now with no issues.

Thanks Chris - for now we are going to let the plastic chain brake spring cover and the spike hold that piece in place.

I have the parts on order (Saw Salvage AKA The Duke). Thanks for your input.

The owner of the 362 bought a 661 when this one went down so the 362 will only see limited service as they move ahead.

Pretty large jump in size for the usage, ether one is overkill or the other was undersized

He gets a lot of big logs from a local tree service guy, the 362 was really undersize for many of those. He's running an OWB year round for domestic hot water in 2 homes, a hot tub, and a heated pool (he said the pool was 90° F this week, night time lows have been in the 40's for about 3 weeks) so they go though a lot of wood. For summertime operations soft maple, cotton wood, etc. are used and many of those grow pretty large around here.

Thanks Steve, Chris also offered one...for now we decided to use the Duke's kit and leave the crankcase as is.

362 is back together with the Duke's kit. I think is starts and runs O.K. but I'd like to try it a few more times before I send it on down the road.

I also was able to put the finishing touches on the 07 thanks to Jay Hansen. It now features both air filters as it should, and the linkage between the air vane and the choke works as it should.

Looks good and I’m glad it will be in a good home, from what I researched this 07 was an early one because it didn’t have Stihl on the rewind and it’s also odd because the plastic cover is all intact with I hear is very rare. They came with plastic covers and metal both for some reason on the 07 and later 07s. Changed the oil pump plate on the newer ones also.
