Are 032 points coils known for taking a dump with heat?

And, is the coil from a points style 031 the same?

Not sure if I missed it in this thread or somewhere else, but how does the MS261 CM respond to being ported? Do the Mtronic Carbs respond well to the extra portage?
If this has been answered somewhere else, please send me in the right direction. I can't seem to find much on this.

I went to purchase a 16" bar for my new ms261 which came with a 20" bar. I think that having both a 20" bar and a 16" bar will be a good combination. I found out that the ms261 takes a special 67 link chain/bar combo vs the 62 link chain/bar combo. I got the 16" bar home and the tension peg wouldn't line up with the hole in the new bar. Brought the 62 link bar back and special ordered the 67 bar, which was cheaper. By luck, I had purchased the 67 link chain. Both chains are the same otherwise. I have cut a few dead, rock hard gum trees down so far and the saw is fun to use. Only problem is that it is so hot out that I can't use it for more than an hour before I run out of steam. Cooler weather next week is forecasted. By then, my new bar should be in. It's a little over kill cutting a 12" tree with a 20" bar. I got the oiler working well with the 20" bar so I guess I will have to back it off with the 16"

That's a nice looking saw great pics

Thank you- It runs as well as it looks too. I recently reset/zero'd out the carb memory because it originally tuned itself at altitude and I'm at sea level. It can compensate on its own to a point, but better to start fresh. So it's just starting to settle in again tune wise. It'll need 4-5 tanks before it's really right, but it's getting there. :)

Is that 362 stock or ported? Runs nice.

Oh, it has lots of extra bananas added, and not just the normal store brand. It has Chiquita brand Lol!
This saw was the test & tune saw that Randy used to formulate his 362cm porting "recipe". It was bought new by Keith Gandy, sent to Randy and then Keth made it an R saw when he eventually got it back after Randy used it for the build thread: Mastermind Meets The 362c-m. Then Justin Findley owned it and I bought it from him. This saw has more frequent flyer miles than I do- lol! The link is below, but it may be system blocked. If so, just jump over there and search the title Mastermind Meets" and you'll find it in the list. It's a runner for sure...

Randy did mine soon after that. I then added a bit of timing advance. Drove the M-Tronic nuts for a while, but it seems to have gotten used to it.

You would probably have better luck if you posted this in the Chainsaw Parts, Wanted to Buy, Ads section.

I got a true "Barn Find" today guys! Went to the funeral for a cousin, and another cousin showed me the farm that was purchase at auction (resell is planned).

This little fella was left behind, had to scrape the crud off the tag find the model, it is a 034. At this point, don't know if it runs or what it needs, but it sure needs a cleaning!

Nice Mike. I think it may have been the predecessor of the 360's.
