Well the free want add I placed for old chainsaws keeps paying off. A guy contacted me to see if I'd be interested in a old stihl. I ask him to send me a few photos. It looked good so we talked price and he said how about 40.00 dollars. Well I met up with him and brought it home.
This is a Top handle S-10 around 1967. I replaced the seals, rebuilt the carb and added a bucking spike. I can't believe the paint held up so good. Also he gave me a old Stihl sharpening guide with it. The bar is a windsor.

I know it's small but $40.00 is worth a running saw

the 023 was the first saw i bought 20 years ago. if i showed ya pics of some of the big stuff i cut with it i'd probably get banned for chainsaw abuse. on the second p/c but i stihl run it regularly. good deal at $40.

No such thing as a silly question here mate

An 066 red light is an early model 066 that had a fancy electronic rev limited coil, that made a red light on the side flash when you were at peak RPM's
It only lasted a couple years which makes it kinda special, especially if you find one with a working red light as they were fragile and either broke, or were ripped out and changed.

I plan to do a restore job on it

I "F'ed" up today I'm putting a 250 motor in this saw so I'm putting a fresh piston and bearing etc. in it so I was putting in new piston pin circlips and I heard that sound that you don't want to hear  and one popped out of my hand were it ended up who knows

So I need a new one maybe two since I already lost one for this piston
