Might have to enquire at my dealer, even if he is a useless sum'*b-word, I get folks in my shop all the time saying "he had my saw 5 weeks, went to pick it up and he hadn't even touched it".

Hmm maybe I should try and get in with stihl to replace him round these parts

The 361 has a lot of power for such a small piston.

I have been asked to do a top end kit on a ms 440 does the serial number identify if it is a 10mm or 12mm pin? or do I have to get saw pull the jug and measure it from there?

I don't believe they made a 10mm MS440 only the 044 had them.

btw, dave, the big clutch cover went on the 038m, as it has the fullwrap. 044 may get one, if I find [or make] one cheap.

sfsg. its a screamer. no tach here. that lump o wood's 22" wide, same as that bar. only mod was no gasket. no comp # yet.

I have been looking at that plug on a 390 Iam working on and was thinking can I drill that bigger to increase oil flow ?

I'm glad you got it going. It's a good looking saw for sure. I've used a couple of the AM 044 China carbs. Each one I've used has worked great. I even have one on my ms260.
