The saw shop that I do some part time work at has many old saws up in the attic. If I remember right I think there may even be an old contra and 08S up there. I've brought home many saws from that shop. Actually I got a little top handle saw myself from that place. A little 192T for about $75 if memory serves correct. There are several little treasures up in that attic! I could easily blow all my money there if I had no self control.

People get befuddled on 2 cycle engines, even decent automotive mechanics .All they need is fuel and spark but they make mountains out of mole hills .Seems I'm the local fixer of things also but some times I get befuddled too .

These deals pop up on forums all the time .Recently an older Stihl 026 came up with a reasonable price with 3 brand new unused loops of Stihl rapid super chain worth over half of the asking price and 50 miles away from me .Because of the then asking price I think the guy got cold feet and deleted the post .No big deal it happens all the time ,I don't get real excited about this stuff any more .Besides that I need another saw about as much as another hole in the head .

I had to bite the bullet and buy a new chain for the 024 .67 DL Stihl RS .325 x .063 .It was only about 2-3 bucks higher than Oregon and some I've never heard of .Dang prices of chains sure has jumped since the last I bought any .In spite of the fact I'm stingy I have to admit that hard azz chain Stihl sells is much better chain . I'm finding with the fallen stuff I have every where the little baby 024 has worked out a lot better than a larger saw .
WTH little pecker poles hither and yon ,bone dry except the bottom .No splitting ,get a yard cart or two every day or so then sit on the patio and enjoy a whistle pop or three .This retirement seems to agree with me
