As clearly shown in one of Mark's pics, the big end rod bearing arrangement is about the only thing that may be unexpected if you just start tearing the saw down. The needle rollers are held in place by the rod end itself and aren't caged. Good to know ahead of time before you need to start looking for em down in the case wondering how many there are supposed to be.

I just remembered I have an 011 in the shed .I have no idea where it came from but I think it runs .It's a white one not orange .These little saws seem to show up like stray cats .
I might have to dig that thing out and see if it runs .It could be a neat little camp fire type saw ,light weight etc .Although quite honestly I haven't camped in decades except places like the Holliday Inn .

Not unlike Al I have 2 or 3? Small top handle stihls in the shed that got side lined for bigger projects. 012 AVP which is a hybrid top/rear handle get up that probably wasn't very popular, but for a small 45cc saw it cuts well.

So the 066 I got from the scrap yard had a few issues with the fuel tank, one being an AV mount that was cracked.20210417_074501.jpg
Well even though I gorilla glued it a little bit of a pinch snapped it right off.
I decided to order a tank off the jungle site and it wasn't terrible except for the wiring and the upper fuel line (swapped for OEM).
I decided to put a skid plate on the new tank and upgrade to a Stihl elasto-start handle . 20210417_074601.jpg 20210417_074620.jpg 20210417_074527.jpg
And I got a few of the Super fancy flanged bar nuts!

Some time ago I did some work on I think an 011 that was orange .It had a throttle linkage that was a cable like a lawnmower ,broken .Much to my surprise the Stihl dealer had one in stock .Now on those mini's or any points type mags just about any condenser will work as long as you can find a place to hang it .FWIW I hung a condenser from a Ferguson TO-20 on the pony motor mag of a D4 Cat ,externally on the kill switch terminal and it worked .

Pretty much everything on this 009 is in great shape, one would almost say minty. I'm going to tear off the cylinder and have a look. If the crank and cylinder look fine then I'll probably just fix it. The only thing I appear to be missing is the handle molding. Like previously mentioned it could make for a good camp saw. Honestly I could use it around the place for pruning the fruit trees. However, i'm in a little hot water with the wife for bringing in too many saws recently so I'll probably just sell it. Probably going to sell my 056 super w/ mag II Top End as well. Yeah....that's how much doo doo I'm in.

Anyone got experience with MS661 decompression valves?

Mine has no drilled hole, must flow through the top crimped section?

But I see one on eBay sold as oem Stihl that does?

I think you just need the 3/8 pico rim sprocket to fit the 362. Bar and chain should fit.

Ive ran across 2 or 3 that didn't have a hole, as long as the valve is the same design it will swap , even one from a husqvarna 372 or Jonsered ( which have a better bleed off of compression).

362's typically run 3/8's.

I'm unaware of a Picco conversion kit for the larger clutch saws.

I think you just need the 3/8 pico rim sprocket to fit the 362. Bar and chain should fit.

You'd also need to use a Picco bar with the correct nose sprocket.

Best to stick with .325 if desiring a smaller cutting profile unless someone else knows of a Picco conversion method. I'll look a little deeper, but I think the limitation will be the availability of a clutch drum large enough for the 362 crank with a spline small enough for a Picco rim..., or even a compatible spur drive drum. Pretty sure the crank diameter (and needle cage) are where it isn't going to work for the smaller Picco chain drive components.
