Well I know they have demos floating around right now. But I’ve heard limited numbers end of month early next. Almost like the new bronco release

I know a dealer who refuses to sell them due to the numerous problems he encountered with the TS 500i's.

I thought the ts500i was pretty good overall too. I know people hated to work on them because of injector location but that isn’t an issue on the saw. Tree service loves theirs and wants a second one and they just got the first 462 instead of a 362 for a bit larger trees.

I just did a hyway cylinder and a Cross pop up in a ms390 and I am impressed with the difference in performance.

One of my co-workers found out that I work part time at a big farm store that happens to be a Stihl dealer. He acted incredulous that we sold that brand and said he is going to come buy one even though our store is a county away from him. Central Kentucky is absolutely saturated with Stihl dealers, I guess he has been living under a rock or something.

We have an abundance of Stihl dealers in this area .The closest Husqvarna dealer is about 35-40 miles away . Other than TSC or Lowes nobody sells them locally . What few Husky parts I might need I usually get from a dealer in North Carolina .

Highway, oem, farmertech
A little difficult to see in 2 dimensional.
The ports in the Highway and OEM are definitely larger and contoured through the transition, the farmertech is more restricted than the smaller bore OEM .
IN NO WAY AM I AN EXPERT ON 2 STROKE ENGINE DESIGN, just observation of the 3 I have.

Not saying that all three won’t run but the farmertec cylinder should definitely have the bevels checked for sharp edges. The hiway if it’s like the few I’ve dealt with had pretty loose squish bands so low on compression. To bad the oem one is a 034 cylinder if it was an 036 I’d feel it a pretty safe bet the oem would make the best power.

I measured the squish at 4 places on the highway: cylinder insalled with no gasket and new piston 20-19-20-19. So with the gasket it would have pretty dismal compression for a popup.
The farmertech is obviously an unfinished product in my opinion, but at 16.00$ it's sort of a good option for a beginner to do surgery on.
I'll definitely be taking a grinder of some variety to it , with the objective of shaping it closer to the OEM .
I have 2 034s I bought from the scrap pile 23$ and 10$ so if I can learn something and experiment a little bit it's definitely worth the money.
Just wanted to share some pictures of what could be available for the novice like myself.

A bone stock 48mm version with gasket delete and .020 squish alone will surprise you if you haven't had the pleasure of running one yet. Very desirable saws in many circles.

Several notable design changes in them over the years. Mufflers/fitment (due to cylinder/exhaust port differences) is a major one as is the needle cage/clutch drum size. They're infamous for the difficulty involved with installing Stihl's rigid line onto/from the oil pump to the bar mount. One of the best 60cc class offerings out there, imho..., and I have a 262xp and a MS361 for comparison.
