Sooo, even engineers were aware that Dolmar may fail soon hehehe ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

No hate, just a slightly offensive joke :D
No offense taken.

Stihl's must break down much more considering the abundance of AM parts being offered.

Yes, Dolmar's do break down, mostly due to operator error and abuse - but in the end they are just a machine that will wear through usage. ;)

Congratulations av8or3 on your new addition! Had I not just purchased an ea7900 I would have been very interested in this one. I remember seeing it in the classifieds. I agree with Wilhelm, January of 2007 DOM. I notice the Swabian saws I have are dated the exact same way as well. Appears to be the system the rest of the world uses. Like our calendars, Sunday is the first day of the week whereas Monday is in the rest of the world.

Any Makita I had were all nicely designed, easy to clean, fuel and run,
no parts broke. There was a time here where Makita were sold in my local
town, all I heard was they are not a great saw, too hard to set right, this came from the mechanic at the store, people talked to the mechanic and heeded his
advise, which was buy a Stihl. That same mechanic I saw leaving a generator
running under load to deliberately destroy it, because he didn’t know how to
fix it, that was a Honda unit. Just saying, the majority of people here know
everything until something goes wrong, even when it’s their fault and happened
as they used the tool, it’s the tools fault.

On another note, I see a store who were selling Dolmar and Echo now only stock
Echo, kind of confirms my suspicion that Dolmar are going to follow Makita’s
lead, and won’t be producing gas saws in a years time.

It’s quite official, Makita is getting out of the gasoline powered chainsaw business. A link to the official press release is on here somewhere. That’s a part of why I bought this saw. And a NOS 7310 before it. They are well built good looking saws with a large following and I wanted to preserve a small part of all that.

I really like them too, but I don’t want the trouble of sourcing scarce parts
if ones were needed, I am at a stage now when I need over the counter parts,
mainly because I do not want to keep a stock of parts, that would cost me more
to do than just buying a part in a store for whatever breaks.
