You should contact @166 since it probably was him being the original
dealer of this particular saw

But @Wilhelm is right: Assembled in January 2007
That's Howard!!

Howard was purchased August 7th 2007. Was only started up a few times "just to hear it run" and never cut a stick of wood.

I bought the saw back on April 13th 2015. Switched it over to VP fuel and never ran it again.

I'm hoping it'll stay in it's current condition.

Why is everyone so concerned about getting parts? o_O

The only parts I ever purchased and installed/utilized were those required to make the abused saws I purchased work to my specifications and look nice again.

I have preemptively installed a new AM piston kit in my PS-6400 and I just recently got an issue with the oiler on my PS-7900 - that's it!
No, I do not use my chainsaws commercially nor do I make a living cutting wood.

I can understand a certain level of concern, but some of You guys sound scared.

Here a couple chainsaw hacks.
This measuring tool can be modified the way I install it to any chainsaw. I rushed the video before dark set in and the tool should be installed on the other side of the bar. I started cutting on wood with angled cuts to begin with and didnt make all straight cuts to end up with identical and perfect cuts, but you get the point, I messed up, not the tool.

The second video is about super cheap eco-friendly bar oil replacement

I don't know for sure, but I wonder if the flat mount with the two holes in it mounts with the screws holding the front handle to the body of the saw. It would be out of the way for adding bar oil as well.

My buddy bought one of these firewood tools that is just a fiberglass rod with a strong magnet on the end. Cheap, and you don't have to drill a hole in the bar. I've used it and it serves the purpose.

Yesterday's action, Dolmar PS-9010 with 23" B&C, .325" chain, 9 pin sprocket, turkey oak.

DSC04983.JPG DSC04984.JPG DSC04985.JPG

She's on her fourth or fifth tank of fuel and she's a beast.
She's also HEAVY, I was craving any of my large frame Dolmar's but they all have dull chains and I was not in the mood to sharpen any.

Couldn't move the log, 36" in its butt, and the 23" bar didn't reach - so I had to noodle the rounds off to finish the cuts.

I came to the conclusion that 23" .325" chain has severe chip clearance issues with the bar fully buried, the chain bound a couple times while I was bucking the big log.

Clean 9010!

Yes .325 does not clear chips well. 9010 probably not even breaking a sweat with .325 on that size bar lol.
It is a test/play setup and I like it on medium sized logs, it's fast and smooth with the 9 tooth sprocket driving it.

I have to modify or swap the studs on my PS-9010 to utilize my D009 36" B&C, just one of the very many things that need be done.

Any time you completely bury a bar in hard wood (with tip covered and not sticking out the other end) you will have some issues related to chip clearance.
Redo the test in a stick that allows the tip to just stick out of the round that your cutting. I think your results will be different...
Not much has to do with chain size.

Why someone would put less than a 32” 3/8” B&C on that saw is a mystery to me.

I’ve got smaller saws for shorter bars.

That is the bar I got with the saw upon purchase, the 14mm studs prevent me from utilizing my 36" D009 B&C setup.

I am not in a hurry to enable my PS-9010 to take D009 mount bars, I prefer utilizing my PS-6400/7300/7310/7900's!

BTW, the local to me loggers run 18" B&C's on MS661's.
But true, them are Stihl's, they can't handle more than that!
