In my area quality firewood (beech, oak, locust) is not cheap, as such I have long learned to utilize every wood species for firewood no matter how crappy it is.
Once it is seasoned it will all generate heat!

Changed the intake booth. Still driving me crazy this thing. Idles nicely on alll four sides, great power in the cut. Still not able to fourstroke in the cut though and revving instantly to full throttle is delayed. Only thing I could think of now is the reeds that have to loosen up or the carb.

Lived in the country all my life and still can't tell the various trees apart so that's my answer too!

Dcs 431. Gave her a new piston, still breaking in. What do you guys think of this model ? It feels a bit slow in the cut to me (compared to my ea4300), but it keeps on cutting under load. View attachment 264973
That's probably a good description, not the fastest but good torque, benefits from a muffler mod and base gasket removal, livens them up a bit. Did you check squish after changing piston? sometimes, depending on piston make, compression is a bit less. Very reliable and dependable saw.

Starts with the lightest pull. Compression isn't as high as my other dolmars, but should be good after break in. Could use a muffler mod indeed. Overall nice little saw.
