Do you think you need a skip-tooth chain? Ii would assume the 7300 could handle a non-skip chain quite well
but I don't know exactly since of this saw family I only own a PS-7900 and a self-tuned PS-8700.
What's the spike bar on your 7300? Looks unusual.

It could easily pull this 28 through this soft popular with full house chain, but I wanted to see if there would be any difference. Not so much of a difference, but I noticed that cutting the blocks along the grain that the chips were muchs Longer than usual.

The spikebar is something of my own. Doesn't look all that pretty, but it works.

What is a ps-8700

A PS-7300/7310 will pull a 36"/115DL 3/8" full complement round filed chisel tooth B&C setup bucking dense/hard turkey oak and noodling beech fully buried.
At least mine do, with just a mild muffler mod.

My 7910 will pull a 28" full comp buried in oak with authority so i imagine a 7300 would do it just fine too.

Mine will do to (also with a mild muffler mod). Just bought the skip tooth and wanted to try it out. Mainly testing to find out if it would vibrate more, but didn't notice any. Great saws I must say.
I am on my spare 115DL full complement chain and I was considering to give full skip a try. o_O
I will have to see locally whether they even know what skip chain is.

Try semi-skip chain. Clears chips real good. I have some. Like it much better than full skip.
Semi skip sounds like a tooth sequence for the undecided!

Since I do not utilize my 36" B&C setup for limbing nor bucking small and medium sized logs, I think full skip is worth a try - if I can find any.

It seems to me that chip clearance on semi skip is rather questionable since the sequence of left-right-skip-repeat does not ensure equal clearance for each tooth side.
I may be wrong though!

If it works for You and You like it go nuts! ;)

Chains are not a priority for me right now, I have more than I can spend for a while.
Having just one 115DL loop is not an issue either given that the 36" B&C setup is rarely required. :)

Took me a while to find full skip so chances are slim on finding semi skip here in Europe.

There’s a few rolls around in 404 but I haven’t had any 3/8 semi skip for ages
The semi skip 404 is 10 pence a DL cheaper than full skip

Don't knock it until you try it Wilhelm...
I am just stating the obvious, why go half way when it will require the same effort of achieving as going all the way?!
I'll have trouble getting any of the two sequences, semi and full skip, so why even bother getting semi.

Honestly, I do not need skip at all!
My stock PS-7300/7310/7900 handle 115DL full complement better than anyone on here dares to admit.
But being somewhat of a chain vulture I would like to try some skip.
