Because semi-skip cuts better and faster than full skip. Just trying to help Wilhelm. I've used both.
Are we talking no less than 36" 115DL in hardwoods?
Because under 36" I see no need for any kind of skip sequence!

As posted above, acquiring chains is not a priority to me at all, as such any kind of skip is just a brainfart on a back burner.

OK...
Any size above 28 I use semi-skip. Not solely, but I have a couple. I use it on my 32" bar. It clears chips really well.

A while back, Redbull661 did some testing with semi-skip. It proved it cut well. Better than full skip.

Oregon 72ck or 75ck is what you want. You can file it round or keep it square. I like it on a 32-36” bar. Below that I like full comp, above that I like full skip.

.404 in half skip (semi skip) I’m a little skeptical of. I do like half skip in a 3/8 though as I mentioned above. I say this because .404 full comp is darn close to 3/8 full skip spacing between the cutters since it is a larger chain. The only advantage I can see is less teeth to file. I guess will have to try it.

What are other people's opinion on the bearclaw style muffler buckin billy ray put on the dolmar ps9000? Looks like it made a huge difference on that saw still being stock at that time. Tempting to do the same, but wondering what could possibly go wrong doing so.

that muffler looks loud , if you started that saw up in the Kennedy tunnel
On the Antwerp R1 ring road it would sound like a Ferrari

Damn surprised you know of the Kennedy tunnel in Antwerp Andrew! Most famous for it's traffic jams. But I have to agree on that Ferrari thing you mention though.
