Thank you very much!

Are the LRB kits for Poulan any better than the ones they make for the McCulloch? You can't use the wrist pin with the piston supplied with the piston as it is too small for the connecting rod and will just fall out. Seems to be O.K. if you reuse the original wrist pin for a good press fit in the rod.

Mark

I doubt the piston has been chrome plated as the original LIL red barn ones weren't. Running a bare piston in a 3400 with a bare bore will end very badly in about 30 seconds.

Mark, Kevin Simpson (I think it was him) had a LIL red barn piston break in an SP81.

Does anyone know what carb kit a Mini Mac 6 takes? Or happen to have a spare welch plug from one that measures 13mm? I started rebuilding the carb on one and got the old welch plug out before realizing the kit I have is wrong, the gaskets and diaphragms are all ok but the welch plugs are too small.

Should be a Walbro MDC carb.
Check on the Mac thread to be sure.
Some of the 25/100 series MINI macs used Zama carbs, but I think all MM6 were the MDC.

Haha, I’ve got too many projects going on, I can’t keep the brands straight.

NO, LRB piston was crap the last and only 3400 piston kit I got. Costed me a cylinder and I had to reuse my bearings and pin. Had to stake the bearings in. Piston was not chrome plated, only polished.

Hello fellas.
I have a Poulan S25Da that is not oiling with the pulse driven side of the pump or the thumb button.
The diaphragm is trashed which explains why the automatic oiler does not work.

The thumb button will not move up and down so I took the oiler off and made sure nothing was blocked or bound up. I put the oiler back on and pumped the thumb button a dozen times or so and it felt like when the oil reached the pump the button got hard and would not move.

Does the diaphragm have to be in good shape for the manual thumb oiler to work?
Any ideas?

Thank you.

Good evening fellas,

Do any of you know what paint is a match or close match for the Poulan yellow? I have a 330 that came with an unknown green clutch cover/ chain brake Assy. I would like to paint the cover to match the rest of the saw.

Hey all I have a 3500 with a hole in the oiler resevoir. The PO didn’t line the bar up and cranked on the nut, punching the adjuster through the case. I can find almost zero info on this saw. are any parts from the 3500 interchangeable with other series? I know they started making them in ‘97, what year did they stop?
What are y’all’s thoughts? Thanks!

Hey Steve! Hope alls good over your way.
What's up, was up in your neck of the woods about three weeks ago. Was up there looking at those famous stone pillars y'all have.

Ah, the Guide stones.
Those were all made locally, but funded by an unknown individual or group.
Just gave instructions on what and how etc.

Really liked it. I know the old bank president that worked the deal said he would never tell who that person was. He not long ago passed away and the secret went with him. I work with a guy that knew the banker real well.

I have a question for you gentlemen...where on the CV models (4000, 4200, 5200, 5400, 6900) and Craftsman versions (3.7, 5.2) do you find a serial number?

Thanks,

Mark

Thanks Ira - worked for 3 of the 5, 5400 was missing the tag and the 4000 doesn't have one there.

Yes I'm new to a lot of this OPE stuff. I've never even seen a ported saw run(in real life) but I've always been willing to help. I found a member with a problem(owns over 70 saws), and I stepped up to help reduce the burden on him. Thanks Wayne. I'm looking forward to the jan 22nd gtg.
