Anyone got a coil for the points type S25DA?

I may have one still. Will check.
Was a runner that I have been parting out.

Update. Just seen on AS you already found one from a 2.1.

finally got to a craftsman 2.1 ive had for couple years; says its a 2.1 but has auto oiler which works. just finished cleaning up the saw. it had likely never been cleaned. some of the cake was hard. no gaps anywhere except where moving parts are. doesn't look new but looks happier.
cleaned, filed, and gapped points, rebuilt carb, and installed new fuel lines and plugs. coil tested "open" but was able to get one from a helpful member. started this thing but it stutters at WOT. had this same problem with a C5 that was cured with a "new" coil. anything else yall can think of?

I'm glad to see you use that 5400 Mark. That was one of Sheldon's favorites, with good reason.

Rebuilding a skil 1636 frankinsaw. Case, p/c, starter, clutch cover are original. Handle assembly and fuel tank S25DA. reprinting the handle and tank to sorta match the skil parts; close but not exact.
Missing the fuel cap. Anyone got one they could part with?

Well, I got my 1636 Skil frankinsaw (S25DA) cleaned, painted, and assembled. fueled it up and tried to light it up. No joy. No spark on the grounded plug. Had spark when I got it 5 years ago and couple weeks ago although recent spark was unimpressive. Gonna do some checking for shorts but if that doesn't pan out I'll be looking for a electronic coil.

Checked for grounding and found the switch, that I had previously tested as good, wasn't good. Conducted current to ground in both positions. Other than that she sounds great. Now on to the dumpster 306A find.

so how many screw hold the fuel tank/carb box/handle assembly to the cranckcase on a 306A?
I've counted three, all in the carb box, but it doesn't want to come loose. am I missing any or do I just need to use a BFH? thanks

This 306A's piston is scored enough to cause a running issue. Any one know if a piston and ring from another saw that would fit? I'm kinda diggin' this old saw and would like to see it serviceable again.

I had 3 vintage echos a guy wanted. I told him I am all for trades. So I got these 3 in return.

375 was missing the top cover etc. So he painted a 3400 one to use.

Dang 5 pic limit per post here.

What is the baseline setting for the high and low speed jets on a 40cc wild thing type?

seems all the plastic poulans I have/had like the fat side of "normal". some times a full turn or more. my elev. can be measured w/tape. 30' be overkill.

Dumpster 306A. Got the fuel gasket and ignition issues resolved. Now, naturally, another issue.
It starts on choke and runs couple seconds before dying. Won't run without choke. Starts back up fairly easily most every time.
I'm suspecting seals. Rebuilt carb, new lines, new filter, most of the corrosion in tank removed. Carb wasn't corroded except a little on the outside.
What says y'all?

Hope it's not like mine a scraped up piston. Try giving the L screw a turn out a little more and see if that helps. Do a check on your seals as well. Pretty old if they were never changed.
