There are several different style/types of fuel caps used on the 10 Series saws. On some of them you can grasp the insert with a pair of pliers and twist/pull it out. Be sure to thoroughly clean out all of the residue before installing the new duckbill valve.

The ones with the brass or plastic inserts are pretty easy.

There is another type with an aluminum insert that does not come out, and yet another where the whole inside of the cap is held in place with a couple of hollow rivets; I have not found a was to service either of those.

It's been a while since I worked on a 600 series.I loaned out one of my PM 650 saws & my buddy brought it back & said that neither oiler worked.I got the saw in pieces last summer & I know the oil line was good,so I replaced the oil pump & it still won't oil.My next thing to check is to see if the pick up is plugged.Probably should've checked that first.

I found the problem why the saw wouldn't oil.The gasket that's under the pump wasn't lined up correctly. They really didn't give much room to work there with trying to put the pump in on top of that gasket.Plus I'm losing what little vision I had left.I'll have to quit working on saws entirely very soon.I goty the new pump oiling, but my buddy ran the saw in oak with no oil & either fried the clutch or bearing or both. Now I gotta pull the drum to see what's going on.Some people are dangerous & idiots when ya put a saw in their hands.

Bummer to hear, I have to wear my glasses and then some magnifiers with good light when working on stuff now. Hopefully your saw is an easy fix, like a needle bearing swap.

The bearing was good, but a bit dry,so I re-lubed it.I think I found the problem as to why the chain was binding when I tightened the chain brake nuts - I pulled the clutch & found that I had omitted the thrust washer that goes between the clutch & drum, probably because when I got the saw in pieces it was missing.
I'm now confused as to why the 2 screws that go into the switch plate & insulators are missing.I know I put them in there when I put the saw together. If those bosses are stripped, how can I keep those screws in place? If I use thread locker it'll just burn off from the heat of the engine.

I've got the Vibra TITE ordered,I was better off buying it on feebay than on Amazon.I don't have Prime on Amazon & I couldn't see paying $6.99 for shipping on a little 2 oz.bottle.Now there's the issue with those little insulators that go between the switch plate & the cylinder. They're always a biotch to get them in place,at least for me anyway. So,I'm gonna remove the switch plate entirely & super glue those little buggers in place.

Ed - I normally just set the saw with the cylinder pointing up, set those insulators in place, then carefully lay the cover on and start the screws. I'm sure that using super glue to hold them in the shroud is a good idea in any case.

Took the 35A apart to inspect the fuel system.
This piece of valve is steel which is different from the kit that eBay sells. Can any of you experts school me?
