Yes an independent shop. I have touched cars all over the spectrum aswell. I'd take the wireless network over the fiber optic. Luckily I don't do many 7 series bmw! I went to Jefferson Collage in Hillsboro. Then been in constant training at Design Technology in St. Peters.

Yeah I was pleased to find it had a cube carb. I think I gave 15 bucks for that 3-10

Do you have any e models
I've got a 5-10E,so seeing the info on the electric part is awesome.I need a battery pack, and my switch got broke in shipping.
I picked up a 797 for a bottle of Wild Turkey this summer.Needs a muffler and a cleaning.Spent a bunch of years in a Power plant room,with a poor exhaust system.photo0390.jpg

On that battery deal, there's a guy at work who built one from cells for some battery start 10 series .Jim,can't remember his last name he was active on a site I no longer visit.Had a GTG a few years back, about 25 miles from me .
I think he used the same cells that are used for batteries on a cordless drill which you can find on the net for a few bucks each

That's what I did for mine. Bought a drill battery for 15 bucks and stole 10 sub C cells from it.

I have, but not very well. I worked with a guy who used one like it was attached at birth.

There's a guard that goes on the top portion of a bow. Most people don't about it .
Yeah, I knew there was supposed to be one on it, but It didn't have one when I bought it.

I have a bow that fits a reed valve but it doesn't have a guard either .Takes the same driver counts a 24"loop of .404 .

I'll get around to making a guard some day but it's low on the priority list .I did use a bow cutting osage orange fence posts when I was a teenager on a then brand new Mac 250.

I'm looking at the pic of the 8200 crank and piston then an idea pops up .The bearing is in the rod where it should have been all the time rather than in both sides of the piston .
Now would it be possible to use an Sp 81 or some other piston if the pin size were the same ? I don't know myself ,it's just speculation .

It seems the 8200 is rather rare and most of them that need repair are destined to sit in a box awaiting a piston .Nothing is impossible and just seems with a little engenuity ( can't spell ) the problem could be solved

Having just started going through this OPE McCulloch thread after Googling 'McCulloch PM8200 piston' and running across this older post, I seem to recall the above thoughts in another thread some time ago when I acquired my PM8200...., with a toasted piston, of course.

I just started searching for a piston again after a few years neglecting the matter. No luck so far, but after seeing this post, it reminded me of a similar discussion a while back and I'm wondering if anyone has actually approached such a solution? Seems like someone must have tried it, though it doesn't seem like there are many PM8200's out there to experiment with.

Otherwise, anyone know where I might be able to find a piston for mine? Only other thing wrong with it is a squirrely recoil spring. It's in exceptionally good shape overall.

I don't know if this is an option since I don't have one to measure side by side but, what if you took a crankshaft, rod, and piston from a "normal" mac to replace the 8200 rotating assembly? Is it possible? Joey? Mark?

I think you'd have to replace the whole short block. I didn't measure it but the cylinders are different in several areas.
