Mac 10 series bars are a mystery to me .Some will fit on Husky like 181-2100, Partner p-100 and some won't .Some Husky bars will fit a 10 series some won't .I guess it just depended on who made them .To tell the truth I don't know until I try to fit one up .

Got a Husky D-009 mount on one of the 1010 supers. Had to do a little work on the oil grooves if I remember right.
Would love to have a Mac 20" bar for that 1010 and a 24" for the PM 700.

More 10 Series stuff, I now have available 3D printed handle inserts.

PM if you are interested and make sure to let me know if your saw has the OPL like the one shown above as they need a modification to fit in those models.

The 10 series bars used to be easy to find .However due to the fact I have plenty I really haven't look for any for years .
You hear so much fuss about wearing out bars but the 10 series with the impulse oil pump in my observation seems to hold up better than others because of the amount of oil they are capable of pumping .Unlike some I don't spare the oil run-er -wide open .
As far as length ,again my observation ,the most common on the 60 cc models would be 16" to 20" .The 70's up to 24" and the 81's, 32" .I do have one 36" I've never used that appears to be a hard nose with a retro fitted open roller, PNW bar . I don't think these were common and more than likely would be a PNW thing .
Generally speaking in our eastern hard woods any thing over 32" would get into the 100 cc range .An 80 cc could handle them but not with real gusto and quite frankly would not be used that often because of the size of our larger trees .

I think the reason the 1010S has a Husky bar fitted to it is due to someone damaging the old bar, or just misuse. I believe two of our 1010s came from the electric co-op that dad worked for. They ran Macs for years on line crews, right of way(before they contracted out), and all of the trouble trucks.
Somebody gave him those two and a few others for parts when they were cleaning out.
Just not having much luck finding anything around here, though Mac had a strong presence until the 90s.

Mark, those inserts look nice. 3D printing was an awesome invention.

Havent really ran any hard nosed bars. Always had sprocket tips.

Gentlemen, at the weekend I had a chance to run my 7-10 in wood for the first time since I bought it(20" bar full chisel chain). I mention this because of the preceding posts about bars and oiling..... I was ringing some ash (approx. 10"-14" diameter) for a neighbour and when I set the saw down to roll a log, I noticed that the paint on the bar edge had started to peel. I checked the oil tank and discovered that I had used a full oil tank to less than a third of a tank of mix. I'm too used to my other saws using less than a tank of oil to a fill of mix! Looks like I'll be turning the oiler down a bit one of these evenings. PS - I like running the 7-10!

Remember to turn the screw in to get less oil flow.

I had a 7-10 I went through E-bay to get and replaced the points type ignition and tuned for my wifes nephew .Although I didn't have it very long to me it ran on a par with a 700 .From what little I know about the only thing I could find was the points ignition to the solid state on the 700 .They do just fine .

Another 1010 Super from the family stock. Not sure if this one was the one my grandfather bought New, or if it was the one my dad is using. Dad's has black recoil, clutch, and air filter covers. This one seems to be a bit older. I dont remember them using anything other than the 1010, and my memories come from the late 70s, maybe early 80s. 0513191541c.jpg 0513191541b.jpg 0513191541a.jpg 0513191541.jpg 0513191537.jpg It May be the one they got after the D30. Wish I still had that one. Left it in an outbuilding where I used to rent.

Aaaaand heres a puppy, cause who doesnt like puppies? Ok, she's almost 6, but weighs 6 1/2 lbs.
I know, not a chainsaw.
She hates everybody except my wife and me, so if you stood on the other side of a small tree, she would try to chew through it. That qualifies as a wood cutting machine, right?0818192226.jpg

Did you do any performance enhancements? Always wondered about porting those. Muffler mod already done by RP McCulloch.:)

With a perfect chrome cylinder, I decided to just leave it stock and not risk the plating. Have a new reed valve in the muffler though...

That looks great! Mine looks to be low hours. Compression is great. Probably not as clean as yours. Those pull like a Clydesdale stock anyway. I take the rakers down low, and it still doesnt bog, just spews out bigger chips.

That saw was a basket case out of a salvage yard. A lot of stuff missing and broken. Took a while to get everything together, some nos and some donor parts from PM 10-10's and the brake clutch cover is for a PM800 along with the custom made parts from @heimannm I chopped up a AM 090 bucking spike made to fit. So it's a MacGyver situation going on, not a perfect restoration, this way I will have no problem running it and not be a shelf queen, which is how I like 'em.
