Neither my ducks, nor my moms chicken will eat this whole.
Note the straw like shell, they don't like it.
As such I have to grind it down, hence the testing today.

Do you have to grind grains for chickens? I feed whole grains to mine. Should I be grinding it?
Slaughter chicken also beef up much faster being fed ground grains.

If Your chicken are more pets than anything else then whole grain is the most natural.
Just make sure they have access to sand, fine gravel, dry dirt as their digestion depends on it.

Chicken (& ducks) also like wood ash and small sized unburnt wood coal like out of a wood stove or fireplace.
I guess OWB ash is the same as long as You didn't burn trash in it.

"Good" neighbor knowing exactly where our properties border plowing past the property border mark, a steel reinforced concrete post dug in 20+" deep and mangled up from repeatedly being run over by tractors, and doing turns on my property.

His property plowed on the left, my property on the right, property border post circled in red.

Now, how would You react to this kind of behaviour?
Mind You, this is a person You are "good with"!
People are a$$hole$!!?

I’ve had the neighbor get my lawn. Was wet when they pulled across my grass and left ruts that I had to fix with rototiller. I was pretty pissed but just fixed it and moved on. I don’t think it was the actual neighbor who did drive on it but the application company sprayer operator.

If you’re close with him I’d let him know I didn’t want my side messed up like that.

I drive the type of equipment and accidents can happen. I’m sure I’ve gotten a litttle close at times but I typically stay pretty good away from property lines. I know I’ve planted too close to lines before

The reason I was upset my own yard got rutted is because I would have known better and realized heavy machines and soft ground make a mess.

Buddy I’d start with giving him a call and if you’re calm usually people are willing to do better. That ground looks plowed so if they come back to smooth the ground I’d just tell them I wanted it nice and smooth. I wouldn’t be mean but I’d just let them know I didn’t like it

Morning All! Off to the dentist for a cleaning today, glad that weather is closer to normal today, the winds were blowing yesterday and highway visibility was the shlts. 😂-8f feels like -26 with 10mph winds.

IMG_8752.jpegIMG_8753.jpegPutting some insulation in shop ceiling. Been cold this winter. Ceiling was originally the foam insulation panels. Nailed boards across every 2 ft to help hold them up there as wind has blown some out. Will see how much of a difference this makes. I have pretty high expectations. Went about 5.5 inches deep. This is the buy so many bags at Lowe’s and use machine for free. Slow going but relatively easy. (Once I got all the clogs out from previous user)

There is no doubt animals handle the cold better than humans but they are far from impervious to it. Those who raise cattle, hogs, and other livestock outdoors in a cold climate know that. They have seen cattle and hog ears so frostbit it makes a man cry.

The 2018 Mahindra 2638 that is in my stable seems to have a light valve tick, hopefully just a bit on the loose side, It's cyl3 exh or 4 intake,. Narrowed it down to those valves with a stetoscope.
The tractor is powered by the Mahindra Diesel model CE-38.
Ideally I could use service and or engine manuals for doing these checks myself. Prefered. I put in an inquiry at Bills tractor as to weather their offering has the sought after information, but have not heard back yet.
At a minimum I'd be looking for the factory lifter clearance specs, and any other information that would aid in checking clearances for this project.

Anyone that could help , maybe @ray benson or?

I’m late to the sob story party, but I visited a neighbor recently asking if I could buy some cypress knees from him (part of a tree root used for carving and woodworking). The house was closed up so tight I couldn’t see any light through the curtains, and this was late afternoon, certainly not dark. I could hear people inside and so I knocked on the door a couple of times, but no one came. Then I heard a couple of shotgun blasts out behind the house and naively figured that someone was out back target shooting, so I walked around the house. The neighbor came storming out the back door swearing like a sailor and pointed the gun towards me. I tried telling him what I wanted but it’s hard to be rational staring down a 12 gauge barrel. He told me to “git” and I “gitted.” He used to be a fine neighbor but I’m pretty sure he and his family are messed up with dealing drugs.
