Where are the Milwaukee guys and their “even my 1/4” impact would tighten that right up” 🤣
I should have taken a picture of the three Milwaukee tools I had out there yesterday. 3/8 mid-torque makes removing the small fasteners easy and I used my 1/2 impact for final removal and starting of the shaft nut.

That's awful Tony. We had a pretty serious drought last summer, but this year it's made up for that.
This is the second year like this. Lots of rain in the spring to where it was hard to plan haying times, but now only one measurable rainfall for August. Supposed to be raining today but not even enough to settle the dust. Radar showing it all south of us right now.

These dry weather patterns are making calf prices skyrocket. That my friend is the ONLY silver lining here.

We are gonna throw down some tobacco and pray to our creator for some good rain for you and your neighbors.

Thank you, any thoughts and prayers count. But again that is part of farming, taking the good with the bad. Go 30 miles north or so and the soybeans look to be twice as high as the local ones. Seeing a lot of corn in the area grown for silage in the last couple years, not as many insurance rows where they silage cut failed crops. Dad talked to one of his old co-workers last week and he had sold some 250 weight calves for over $5-lb. I'm keeping about 8-10 heifers back per year for next few years to bring in some younger stuff in the herd. Hopefully retirement will happen 2029 so I can not be beholden to the weekends for hay and cattle work.

Joplin sale was today and they have already posted results. Over 10,000 receipts and prices are high. 500+lb are running around 3.75 to 4. 700+ are in the 3.30 to 3.80. Glad I don't buy beef at the store, maybe I need to rethink my prices for hanging weights. I'm about to stop selling that way because of trying to deal with people that can't make up their mind if they want to buy or not. Think it would be simple when I say I sell whole or half and then have to deal with people who only want certain cuts for the price per pound as the whole thing.

That’s why I quit selling beef. I take all my feeders to the live sale.

The little peoples calf raising adventure is gonna take a few years to turn a profit lol.

14x24 calf shelter. Gotta build some gates today to make a few pens and feeders. No way I’m paying $700+ for four cheap green gates from Fleet Farm. That’s crazy.

Even had them put some vent doors in the back. I’m really happy with the build quality on this thing. It wasn’t cheap vs building it myself but it sure was a whole lot quicker lol

One of my neighbors built a horse barn with metal siding all the way to the ground. I had mentioned to him that if the horses realized that they could get attention by kicking the walls, they would end up kicking the metal off. Of course he didn't listen. The walls now look like a well used demolition derby car.
