Corn round here, is just stalks now, after the last two hail storms that moved threw here.

This one is one of the better ones I've seen, some of the fields are just stubble stickin' out of the ground a foot or so.....

Hard to believe we've had around 8" of rain in the last 2 & 1/2 weeks. Beens are looking good.

That them thirty inch beans. ? They look good man. If you’ve never dealt with them watch the end rows when you cut em. A full swath of 30s in one straight perfect shot like on the end row can break a knife. So much product all at once

That's them. I hire the combine & I'm pretty sure he's run 30's before. But I'll pass the info along.

Why are they growing dryland corn in Wyoming? Or was that pic Colorado?
And why do I get the feeling we all are paying for that..??
Lol..

I read a paper on corn a few years ago that said corn in Colorado had the highest potential in the country. Just had to miss the late freezes, get the rain, miss the early frost, & evidently the hail.

Yes, unfortunately, 7 out of 10 years, it ends badly.. That part of the country just don't seem very corn friendly.
Today, with crop insurance, I guess it's worth the risk.

Crop insurance doesn’t pay much. My premiums are good and you can’t make money that way. Maybe stay afloat at best

Should go by yield history correct?

If no history, defer to county average?
