@jakethesnake my guys left some atrazine in the sprayer over the weekend, I finally told them to go get a roll of hose and start over! They both knew better but didn’t think to flush the tank before filling with water. That stuff set up like concrete wherever it settled.

What brand sprayer is that?
Hardi Navigator 3500

I thought we were doing good going from a 30’ manual fold with manual controller to a 40’ hydraulic fold and three section boom, lol.
We still have the first sprayer we had on the farm. Likely similar to yours. A manual fold 30’ boom sprayer with a 200 gal tank. We still use it for ditches and misc stuff. It’s quite handy !

Yikes. Atrizine is nasty when left sitting with other stuff for too long. Overnight at most and then it gets added to before being sprayed out.

There are fields here that you can barely get a 60 foot boom through the passages from patch to patch. That may be ending though in 2026 as the FSA called yesterday on the reopening of new CRP contracts.

I cut 100 ft openings through a lot of places like that.

I put in for a new 500-600 gallon, 60’ boom. Problem with state agencies is they always want to go with the lowest bid. I have a Demco and Top Air dealer nearby as well as on for LMC ag, but I’m not sure about them. It’s for food plots and they aren’t anything like ag fields! Another 40’ would suffice really.

I rent a field that according to the FSA is 12.4 acres. It is not though as that was when it was dozed out in 1980. I leave a UTV path around it to spray back the brush and exercise the doggie. That path is 1 mile. That should give some perspective. I have rented it for 40 years but I know this will be the last. I had hoped I could get it bought so one of my sons could build there but the heir to it has huge dollar signs and I have an empty wallet.

Last night I saw there was a bit of wetness coming out of the weep holes on the bottom of the sprayer pump. I have around 1,200 acres left to spray for first pass and can’t have leaks !!

So I picked up a rebuild kit this morning.

Holy crusty. It’s time for a rebuild. The diagrams are all hard and the check valve plastics are quite brittle. Definitely time.

Hey look !! This is the one that failed. Always nice to find the issue vs rebuilding something and not finding the actual issue and just hoping it works when you put it back together.

Back together and working great !! Back to the field !!

Agreed! It's almost a joy to find the root cause of a problem that could have multiple causes. At least that way you know what you're up against and whether or not it's likely to be fixed the first time. I hate trial and error repairs.
