Lots of folks around here have started putting in some/all of their beans first. Ladt year was the first year I convinced Chase to do it.

Dad shoots for 128-132 population, We always put Chase’s in around 160-170 pop.

Chase & my brother planted a bunch of 2-2 or 2-3’s this year. After looking at the yield data the early 2’s were equivalent to the late 3’s & early 4’s.

We see more white mold in beans from the air seeders than 15” rows. I believe that the air seeders vary from 7” -10” spacing.

I was joking about the beans going in first. There is no doubt you plant the ground that is ready first. I agree with you that a lot of folks are planting beans first. It used to be you planted beans last and cut them first. Today that has not totally reversed but folks cut beans later because we cannot get a hard enough freeze. Some of the best beans I ever did were in November. I quit at 10pm only because my young son wanted to go home. One year I finished a small section of beans December 26 but that was because it was in a low area that needed to be froze solid

There was a crew burning some crp off on a farm we look after, the crew foreman comes up while I am mowing the lawn & tells me that they are leaving & will be back next week to finish up.

He says he needs a couple more fire breaks mowed, just 2-3 feet would be good, I could just mow them with my lawnmower & that would be fine…

Uhm, that’s a negative on that Ghost Rider.

Who the hell is going to take their lawn mower out to mow of 2’-3” tall weeds & crap that’s multiple years old ?

Anyhow here is the print on the map he handed me, it clearly denotes using a zero turn mower to widen fire breaks. Clearly educated idiots are everywhere…

IMG_1235.jpeg

It didn’t make the field too tacky but it did make mud on all the windows because of the dust on them 🤦🏼‍♂️

Just a rat snake. We have no chickens….yet. Saw a big king snake the other day. He was too fast for a picture. I like having king snakes around. But I hate venomous ones.
Wait until you are moving onto a new farm and your young wife comes screaming out of the basement before you move in. You ask what is wrong and she cannot even say. Then your father helps you and you remove 11 of them out.

Or when your you son refuses to feed the hogs in the barn until you get the 5 footer out..............he was actually 66 inches......

Our when your wife screams as she heads down the steps to do laundry and a big black bastard greets her..............

How about when your wife says there is something hissing behind the freezer. You crawl up on top to see a big ole whopper stuck behind.....

You are in the basement doing laundry and a 3 footer comes out across the floor. It is about 0 degrees outside so you know the SOB has made his winter home there.......

I know most of them are harmless and folks clammer about their place in nature but myself I place them on the level of a coyote
