We got the beans done yesterday & got rolling on the last of the corn. Should be around 1000 acres left. Depending on how things go, being done by Thanksgiving may not be out of the question.

Do the cobwebs have anything to do with fouling the sensors?

Just a city-idiot here, so I don't know squat about what seeds might be sticky or have shapes and surfaces that tend to foul up the flow.
Do know that graphite and talc are used as seed lube, but not much else.
Have seen cobwebs make some surprising clogs in things though.
Air intakes, rain gutters, under the grill, etc. (add some dust and leaves)
Also seen seen some old grits (forgotten in back of cabinette) that were pretty webbed up and clotted. I keep them in the fridge nowdays.

Usually for me cobwebs are down on the plants so not much of an issue. They go through the machine so violent there’s not much left. That sorghum is just sticky by nature. When I plant it I open the bag of seed and dump a ridiculous amount of talcum powder in there and shake the bag up before it ever goes into the planter.

Just to try to keep it from sticking to itself and “bridging”.

Have seen the combine covered in spider webs though but usually that seems to be an overnight type situation. I don’t think they ever get a chance to really take up residence. I’m sure the little bastards will probably build a nest in one of my sensors now just to prove a point now that I’m thinking about it 😂

Some of these silly things will chase the tractor until I drop the core of the bale from the unroller. Had one the other night try to take a bit of hay every time I lifted the bale to skip a bit of ground. Been dropping the bale for about one rotation and then picking it up trying to keep them from laying in it and wasting too much. Seems to be working since I have very little left the next day.

They know the good stuff is in the middle.
