Be thankful it wasn't a calf. Had an uncle that did that with a sickle mower.I ran over a baby deer today. I always hate it when that happens.

Prairie crayfish. They are also in the ditch in my front yard. I'll try to get a picture of the funnels they make. How in the hell did a crawfish get there? The nearest body of water is miles from there.

Sorry to hear about that. Was it on the road, or did you get it with the haybine?I ran over a baby deer today. I always hate it when that happens.

My wife was just talking about this last night actually. She read on another forum that it's very common to encounter baby deer while doing hay.I ran over a baby deer today. I always hate it when that happens.
Birds drop all kinds of weird stuff. How in the hell did a crawfish get there? The nearest body of water is miles from there.
I would imagine that could ruin a sickle or disc mower.Got it with the disc mower.
Might clog a sickle but you wouldn't probably even know it with a disc. I cut at night a lot and if I didn't see it in the tractor lights the buzzards would have to inform me the next day. Speed on the knife tips and the amount of inertia behind one of them is actually scary. I'm cutting 10.5' at 4.5 to 6 mph and that is dependent on thickness and ground. Put some more horses in front of that and you can jump to 14'+ cutting widths or run a mower/conditioner.I would imagine that could ruin a sickle or disc mower.
