It's a damn sight better than what I've been using. The New Idea 5x4 low density machine makes good, but lightweight bales. They keep good.....but it just takes so many to get even a small herd like mine thru the winter. Last year I started in the fall with 299 bales.....and ran out.

My thinking is that with this baler I'll make about half as many bales and still have the same amount of hay. That's half as many to stop and drop, half as many to load, half as many to stack in the barn.....

You get where I'm going with this. LOL

Early 90s.....sickle bar cutter.

I'd wait on a disc mower.
They made these for a long time. They are rock solid. It also has stub guards. Given our conditions(hills,slopes,rocks,multiple turns in small fields) it'll hang with a discbine.

View from the seat on baby today incorporating the brown top millet seed and fertilizer that the coop spread for the dove hunt and also hay.
