I tried to find this online but couldn't, and my original copy is buried in my kid's room somewhere so here goes the narration:

Garfield walks down the street. He finds a shoe laying on the ground.

Garfield: "Hmm, a single shoe. Why is it always just one? Why don't people pitch shoes in pairs?"

"Well, I'm gonna find out!"

Garfield uses the shoe to knock on a nearby door. A pirate complete with parrot, eyepatch, and peg leg opens it.

Pirate: "Yes?"

Garfield turns around and tosses the shoe away.

Garfield: "Never mind."
