Hahahahaha
I'd be a tad on the nervous side hiring this guy!:camper::chuck:
:eek:Wonder was that some pictorial evidence of his work????
Dropped a split walnut for a buddy on Saturday and the neighbor came over, said he was watching to see how it went lol. Then he proceeded to ask me if I wanted to cut one down for him, my buddy had already told me about it so I looked at it from his side of the road, a 4' silver maple with a lot of rot up to about 6-8' up from the root flare . When he asked me if I was able to do it I said I probably could, I got this one down, pretty good for my second time :risas3:. Since he seemed to think I was joking he continued to tell me about a so-called friend of his(those are his words) who does tree work and looked at it, he said I thought he was a friend until he told me the price :deal:. I said I can look at it, he said when I said two weeks from now:eusa_whistle:, hope he's saving up lol.
At least he watched me drop half of this one between the fence post and then second half was back leaning about 5' and over the rd in the exact same spot using the skidding winch on my tractor :icon_popcorn:, as for the guy on facebook, I'm thinking I'd want to see a bit of his work :eyebrow2:.

So is he thinking that he has that swift of a learning curve by watching you drop that tree...that he also could accomplish a similar feat?:cbiggrin:

No, he knows he can't do it, but if he thinks I'm dropping a rotten tree that he's thinking is going to fall on his house on the cheap after his buddy already gave him a blue sky figure he's got another thing coming. The week is for him to either have his buddy do it because he thinks I won't come thru or to prepare him for my offer, which I don't think is bad, but it may be the same as his buddy or it might be a little more.
I have a hard time underbidding other guys if I know their price, I don't know this one, especially being it was his friend who gave the bid.
How much you guys think: 4' or better silver maple with rot on the backcut side, I should be able to get a notch about 6-7" in before I hit bad wood, rope one large branch into the canopy so it doesn't get hung up in the tree next to it, attach bull rope/safety line for pulling/keep it from going towards the house . It's a fairly open area to drop the tree into, all I need to do is to put it on the ground. It appears the canopy is heavy yo the drop zone so the bull rope is mainly precautionary. This one could collapse in the stump crushing my bar, but even if it does it should still fall where I want it too, hopefully:risas3:.
I'll refer him to the responses in this thread when I give him the price :D.

I was cutting 2 10" diameter walnuts for the next door neighbor. The neighbor down the street asking if I could look at a tree he needed trimmed on the cheap. I took one look at the 2 foot diameter branch of this silver maple hanging over his neighbor's house and told him I have to rent a lift and that would run about $1200.
He gave me a look like a just called his wife a hoe and said he was thinking it'd be $100-$200 lol.

Needless to say I didn't do it.
