Price on this one is likely not right. He paid collector price for it and wants all that back...

Yeah that’s a tough pill to swallow for the price he paid for it he’d probably better off just to keep it. Id love to have a 681 but not for that kind of money. Jmo...

Yup, could own a ported version of just about any new saw on the market for what he has in it.

Says if someone does not buy it he is running it tomorrow. Seems silly to threat potential buyers that he will devalue it tomorrow if no one buys it.

I think he realized that he has too much in it and he is better off keeping it.

Nabbed up this MS660 this evening quick-fast-and in a hurry...DIRT CHEAP!
Decompression valve is stuck, needs a piston for sure, cylinder looks ok, recoil cover, the plastic plate for the carb adjustment is missing, chain-brake is gone, and a new chain from my 1st inspection.
Yet, I'm happy as pig in slop!!!:cbiggrin2:
Looked online & found that parts are plentiful and mostly reasonable, even the OEM piston/cylinder kits on Flea-Bay.

Tell me is Meteor the next best kit under OEM for this saw?
I'm open to any experiences or advice on this saw.

Now, truth be told this is a lot more saw than what I actually was hunting for or need.
So I am prospect on a good running 044, MS440, MS461, 046 to trade and pay a reasonable difference,
but I'm awfully tempted to take my time (as a project) and get this big boy up a rolling!!:b1::headbang:

Later Studs!!!

IIRC Greg paid a touch over $1K for a NIB 665 with shipping from Europe. At least he got one of those shiny red ALKO bars with it. Feeling a lot better about my recent $440 purchase. Nice to see these saws appreciate in value. Honestly I was going to flip the one i bought and make a dollar off it. Put it on the bench and changed my mind immediately. LOL

This one did not sell yesterday, saw a picture today that would tell me he fueled it up and was taking it out to cut today. Seems like an idiotic thing to me but...
