Has it listed as ms250 I knew it was a ms260 never been filled ?

Lame! Some people need to be junk punched. I had something similar happen with a very clean 2100CD for $400, and a Super EZ AO-W for $75.

He said he told his dad he was selling it and said nothing must be he talked to him as I was driving said his dad wanted it.
I had him down to $270 without looking at it.

That sucks. I've had so many people screw me on CL. Either it's not what they say it is, or you make arrangements and then they sell it out from under you. Selling stuff may be more aggravating.

Did the 260s ever come with new caps? Doesn't look original to me, looks like maybe assembled from NOs parts. The heater pictograms look interesting.

I saw the heat Symbol just figured that was for Canadian version ?
I was going to remove top cover look at jug for Stihl and go.

The newest revision of the flippy cap has the dumaflachty alignment marks. Not sure when they stopped making 260's and started making the revised caps.

You may be correct about the caps in that the latter flippy's have the indicator line. Not sure they were available at the last manufacture of the MS260 pro.
I do believe it is possible that this saw was assembled from NOS parts. It does have the OEM pro sticker on the top. The others are available for purchase
on Ebay, and can hardly be identified from the OEM labels (though there are some particular signs).

There are a few sellers on Ebay that are assembling them and selling them as you mentioned. One particular seller sells them with multiple bars and chains.
Made me wonder if this saw may have been one of those?

Maybe but you'd think they'd advertise as such not a less desirable ms250. He said he had one 250 but need something to run a 20" bar. For his landscaping business. I don't think he knew what he had ? But his dad did ?
