They were first sold with larger Stihl mount.
Now they were sold with d009
Solo 694 were allways sold with d009

That explains it. The SM shows pics with large mount Stihl S2 mounts. I also found D009's via Google. Makita can never make up their mind....

Edit: I guess it made sense in the early years, as they would use the same bars as the old school Dolmar thumpers like the 166.

My 9000 came with stihl bar studs I ordered the D009 studs for it from Cutting edge. Redrilled my clutch cover and bar plate.

To use the same bars you would want it to be D009 and use an adapter. A large mount 3002 Stihl mount doesn't adapt to anything that I am aware of.

Confirmed with the seller this particular saw is a LARGE Mount Stihl 3002 / D033.

The German nick name is "Dampfhammer" which translates to "Steam Hammer" .

I passed up on a new one last year, nicely priced too - just couldn't get past the smurf color at the time.
Now I'd snag a offer like that in half a heartbeat.

Well, that sort of debunks the theory that the early saws were large mount Stihls. IIRC, that was a 2017 year model saw you are talking about.

I was hoping it would accept my current bars. But looks like I would need a whole new setup. Probably just do .404 if I pull the trigger.

.404 for sure I would try on one, if I had one. I need to convert my 395 to .404 someday.

It does appear there is a solution for the D009 conversion. I sold my saw to a guy in Michigan, so I don't need it.

I was just trying to see what was up, because I didn't have a 'blade' that would fit that thing. Lol. Now I've got a big 3002 hard nose bar and no saw to fit it.

Those saws have 4 bar stud holes drilled in the cases. Lots of options. There are two different bar plates for them as well. One for the rear holes, and one for the front holes. The clutch cover can be drilled out, if needed, like mentioned above.

You can run it D033/3002 if you so please, or D009 if that’s what you like.
My 9010 came with both sets.
I run both the 9000 and the 9010 with D009 studs and adapters for D025/3003 bars, unless I have D009 bars on them.
