Very good Saw. Reminds me on my ported 576XP. Very torque, good AV system. Over all, more than an alternative to 462 and 572. The 462 rev up faster, but cuts slower with a 20" bar. The 572 and 7310 are very close up.

Typical for Echo, the saw will get better after 10 Liter of fuel. So time will tell :)

It took me a while to realize.

I really don't think echo is trying to "compete" with husky/stihl in the logging industry...

I think they just wanted a saw to replace the old 680/800 designs. For the current customers.

Design/build 1 saw model, and retire 2 saw models at the same time.

Current owners will be excited to upgrade, and it is an upgrade over the 2 old models.

If they get some logging converts, I'm sure they will be happy to have new customers, but I don't think that was the goal with This new saw.

Keep is somewhat close to the other big brand offerings, while blowing the old model echo away.
I don't feel like the 7310 could replace the 800p as a big bar saw. What's the stock power on a 800p anyway? Really they should come out with a 90-100cc for the USA market.

I would love to see that but seriously doubt it will ever happen for these reasons:

A. The over 90cc and up saw market is tiny, even among pro saw users. Echo would see little if any profit from such an endeavor, especially if it was an entirely new design with all the engineering required to meet first world smog and safety regs.

B. The aforementioned tiny market has been zipped up by Stihl and Husky for a really long time now, to the point that many or most of this already small group would never consider another brand. Dolmar was once a serious player in big cube saws and they got out of that sandbox what, like 20 years ago?

Only Echo saw I know of that’s still being made and has a manual override is the 680. But that’s an archaic design like the 800. I’m 95% sure the 1201 has it too but that’s not for sale here in the States

So you comparing all stock saws or all ported? Didn’t think this echo could run with the ms462 or 572cp stock for stock.

If the 462 cuts slower with a 20" bar, it probably gets smoked with a 28"????

A guy I know said the 7310 seemed low on power. He took it back and got a 572. About 1hp difference.

Thing is, even Husqvarna is capable of measuring only 200W of difference between them. And needless to say, they are about the strongest company marketing wise in this industry and wouldn’t skip a chance to claim more power than 462 if it can be done under pretty accurate ISO standard.

There are tons of various claims of what one guy feels and the other doesn’t - some even say the saw is “rich out of the box” yet in 99% is simply cold cylinder effect. So, “feelings and variables” aside 7310 is the least powerful of the 3 but not by as much as some say.

No way that’s true, The 462 smoked it on the dyno. Stock for stock, haven’t seen any ported results. I loved my echo 590 and willing paid way more for my 462 vs a 7310 or a 572. That’s the best saw in that class currently by a long shot.
